He murders me. Such a good enegine but such a DISGRACEFUL waste of his possessions. He is a JOKE. Under no pressure he coughs up the bloody thing time and time again.

Get him in the forward line or get him out of the bloody team.

Uh...seriously...I did not see ONE Burton kick hit the spot. He is a senior player in our team now, he either coughs it up or puts the player under huge pressure to get the ball.

Horrible moment where we had a free player in the forward line, instead of chip passing to him, Burton on the run shanks it into the pocket and over the line. Brilliant.

He must have - saw many others doing worse than him, nice centering kick for Rhett to mark in the sqaure in the 3rd 1/4.

He was far from our worst player tonight.
 
What frustrates me the most is that Burton has kicked 50 goals in a season, yet we persist with him on the wing. :mad:

If every player had played as well as Burton we would have won.

Burton tried his guts out and overall used the ball pretty well.

Worked his arse off.

At least give credit where credit's due.

Yep I agree. Reilly or Mattner have a right to feel agrieved that a wing is being sacrified becuase NC likes Burtons fitness prowess. Forward or SANFL for Burton.

I agree with you Macca, certainly not Burtons fault we lost ;)
 
Birdhead wasn't our worst last night.

I wouldn't be against trading Burton if we could get a reasonable pick in exchange. He is a valuable contributor (well documented brain implosions, and sometimes shoddy skills aside), but I don't think we would be affected that much giving up a player like him. We need to maximise our chances of snaring a potential key forward and having an extra early-ish draft pick would certainly help.

Reilly has had a dissappointing start to the season IMO.... :(

He may be a victim of his own press ... :confused: .....I reckon he has started playing a bit like he thinks he is the next big thing......get back to basics Radar........you're not a Rolls Royce yet

Radar would be a fool to be getting too far ahead of himself. He needs to remember that Dal Santo was taken after him, and NDS is now being feted as one of the best midfielders in the land. Show us why we took you over NDS Radar!

While we're on Radar, he was one of the players who spoke at the after match function last night. He's a good sized lad. Certainly a lot bigger than his man child appearance on the field would indicate.
 
jack thought there was a little kouta in the birdman last night. Just get a little bit more weight on him i reckon. Needs some set rules put on him too something like, never do this ever, like that circle he was doing last night. Far from the worst though.

Did some useful things last night, look a bit slow, but what I liked was that he is starting to look at running through tackles.

Not seen before, appeared a bit apprehensive the first time, much more confident the second time.

Still learning the game - will be a good one.

Tell Jack that while Burton had a reasonable game ....I think the only way he could have had a little bit of Kouta in him last night would be if he had headed down Lygon Street for a bite after the game.....but I'm sure Ang would have had something to say about that...... ;)

there was a little there, with some general rules in his game, he could be something. Not as bad as some make out i reckon. Wish we'd rest/use him up forward more though.

Yep Mattner totally fustrated the hell out of me. Especially the free kick he gave away with 1 second to go to godfrey at 3 quarter time. :mad: Also if we kicked straight we would've had a chance. I think we tried to be more of a team player and over possessed the ball which caused turn overs. Sometimes we need to be more selfish and shoot for goal.

Exactly. If you think Burton was making more mistakes out there than any other player, you are sadly mistaken.
