What did you think of them?

Obviously not together anymore, probably due to always being compared with Nirvana.

Years on from their split, still a huuuuge fan. Had a few ripping songs, Glycerine, Little Things, Greedy Fly, Machine Head, Everything Zen.

Sixteen Stone would probably be in my all time top 10 albums.

Thoughts?

Rush are infinitely better.....

No chance.

Razorblade Suitcase is one of the most under rated albums going around.
Its easily one of my favourites and I like to pull it out and listen every couple of months.
They have some fantastic songs and some songs that improve the more you listen to. For those that have only heard the singles it is pretty hard to judge because some of there albums are actually quite dense.

No chance.

You obviously have pretty low musical knowledge.

Bush, a pretty insignificant band who had a few nothing hits last decade, vs a band who've sold 40,000,000 albums worldwide, sold out stadiums, released 18 superb studio and 5 official live albums and influenced such artists as Dream Theater, Metallica and Primus and generally astounded people with their musicianship, songwriting and longevity for almost 4 decades.

It's like comparing The Aussie cricket team with Kenya's B team.

Go Kenya B Team:thumbsu:

Using record sales to help justify the worth of a band?

Britney Spears > Rush ;)

Funny how you 2 were totally fixated on the album sales part of my post, when it was just 1 of about 8 or 9 points I made......

Loved Bush back in the day - Little Things, and an acoustic version of Comedown my personal faves. I think Gavin Rossdale is a very underrated musician.

You mentioned record sales, sold out stadiums, their success and influence on other artists. Most of your post was concerned with popularity.

To be fair though, I haven't really got into Rush; maybe I should.

Rush are boring prog rock. They get by on a fan base of horny musicians.

I could have made a list of their non-poularity orientated achievements as longer than Aaron Sandilands' arms, but I've done that several times on here, and couldn't really be arsed doing it again.

Definitely. Do yourself a massive favour. Just don't expect 'instant gratification'. They're not that type of band.

Definetly, Rossdale is extremely talented.

His new band Institute aren't too shabby, Ambulances is a cracker.

I have only had the misfortune of seeing the "Swallowed" vid clip at the Royal in Horsham.

I think it is absolute RUBBISH
