Possibly nothing untoward in this, but certainly not a good look, and curious to say the least. Hopefully the AFL Integrity Unit thoroughly investigates the circumstances surrounding the relationship between Martin, Franklin and Hayson.

It would be disappointing if this gets swept under the carpet by the AFL, due to the high profile of the players involved.

"Colourful identity".

Why don't they just say "suspected criminal"

Colourful identity means criminal in media speak.

Life of the party means alcoholic

There are a few other code words they use for serial cheats etc

Dusty to get done for match fixing, winning all those games of Footy off his own boot.

The Prelim against Port is highly suspect with his burst of goals to put Richmond over the line.

Gary Ablett, another serial match fixer. As was Chris Judd.

Doesn't Dusty part-own a couple of clubs and brothels in Melbourne?
Probably expanding into the Sydney market as a JV

Third tall(not verygood). Outside midfielder(soft). Inside midfielder (slow).

Hayson is an accused match fixer.

Absolute epic stupidity by any AFL player who is within 10kms of him.

Too stupid for words.

So were Nick Maxwell, Stephenson, Heath Shaw.....

tend to agree, Dusty is absolutely free to associate with whomever, but his profile is gold right now and this can only take off a bit of the shine.

I don't see Bonds undies immediately cancelling their relationship mind you..

“But.... but ....your honour, Maxwell, Shaw and Stephenson also gambled on matches”. Hardly a valid defence, but nice try anyway Dusty. And they all copped their right wack.

3 strikes bud should be fine, he can claim mental health. The media hounds will chase dusty and try to damage him. I doubt he'll be bothered though and will continue to perform, as he is the best in the busines. I do hope loudmouth Caro and Jon Ralph don't go quiet all of a sudden though.

Yep taking into account endorsements etc Dusty is probably around $2m a year, another four years is $8m.

Risking that is any way because (a) you just like the feeling of hanging around with dodgy ****ers or (b) you’re too stupid to see the danger to your good reputation would be monumentally dense.

Or it was just a one-off situation, which you’d hope is the case.

Surely you can see the difference between these 3 and a convicted match fixer.

If you cant, take the tiger stripes

Can't wait to see how the Tigers board spins this.

Who would have thought that a bloke who is lucky enough to call Toby Mitchell a close personal friend might hang around with other people of ill repute?

No as bad as the Alan Didak fiasco. At least no-one has fired gunshots here.

Lol, I was waiting for a Richmond supporter to bring that up.

How about we focus on something that is happening in the here and now, rather than backtracking over an incident from over a decade ago that rightfully went through a lot of scrutiny back then as well?

God forbid someone suggest that Dusty mightn't be a shining beacon of altruism, right?

I wish there was this much scrutiny in the 80's at Carlton, 2000's at West Coast and Essendon in the 2010's.
Dusty can't scratch his arse without someone photographing it these days.
More respect for the goat finals player please and let his father come home.
Richmond supporters who defend Shane Martin are ****ing pathetic.
