I'm thinking of getting an 80GIG machine over here, as the costs are obviously much cheaper than Oz.

My question is, has anyone else done this, and then brought the machine back to Oz, and knows of any good websites that I can import games from the US to Oz (for a cheaper price than what you pay down here), as from what I've read, it's not really possible to a get a good working chip.

Yes it can be done.... I purchased my PS3 in the US.... 60gig model.. I just got hold of a regular PC power cable to suit the australian power plug... PS3 has a universal power supply, so it won't fry your system using the higher Australian 240v....

I buy my american ps3 games from www.amazon.com

Hope this helps

Blu-ray region code list. I'd say its about 50/50 for region free and region locked.

I would definitely recommend an overseas PS3 (US or Japan - Region A) for anybody interested in using it as a Blu-ray player. The range and price offered online from the US is leagues above what we can buy locally.

Yesasia and playasia sell both Japanese and US versions of PS3 games and are good sites to buy from.

thanks for the help arecsa

btw when aus make games will they be region free.
