Been a big fan of Bruce for many years. I watched the game today, Melbourne played very well and were unlucky to get the win. IMO though, I think the game is slowly passing Bruce and he might be holding back young kid's like Strauss and Cheney. I noticed today that he found himself in the right positions but butchered the ball often. I wanted to know the thoughts of Melbourne supporters regarding Cam and were you think he is headed? cheers,

Our thoughts are pretty much your thoughts. He still runs incredibly hard but his disposal is getting worse by the week. Hopefully he's getting toward last chance before a spell in the VFL.

He got smashed by Sidebottom early, then was playing all right but little things like missing that goal on the run are starting to add up.

Cam has plenty of critics here, personally I think this should be his last season. He is still capable of getting plenty of ball but butchers it too often, he's had a good career and it's his time to bow out IMO.

I think Bruce would be pretty handy tactically for Bailey. He's pretty flexible in the match up department. And while his disposal by foot is ugly when it is bad, I'm not sure he's been pantsed by many of his direct opponents. Happy for him to play out the year, but if he was to go on next year, I think he'd be stuggling to keep out a younger player.

Yer true. But it doesnt affect his decision making skills, they are getting worse and worse

it may have

it looks like he doesnt have the confidence, if that didnt happen he may have confidence. He can still get the ball, that cant be taught that easily, so he still has a mighty skill there. But he doesnt have enough confidence in his disposals to do them correctly.

he's always seemed to struggle with Bailey's gameplan, even moreso this season playing in the backline... I think we need to play him forward, he often sells his teammates into trouble with a bad handball across half back, throw him forward, he's a good mark, knows how to get the ball, will attract a good defender, and a helicopter goal is still a goal, just ask Levi Greenwood...

Ive always agreed with this, in '05 when he was flying he was played on-ball and resting up forward. He regularly kicked multiple goal in games and a while back against carlton in 02 (not sure) kicked a wopping 7 goals. With him and green up forward, they would make a very difficult match up and would also allow players like cheney/strauss to come through.
