I seriously believe this guy still has heaps to offer to the Carlton Football Club. Watching him today, yes i know it's only VFL but if he can get a big pre season up his belt and get his body right he could be the CHF that we have been looking for. Watching him tonight crash and bash in the forward line he will add the toughness we need.

HF: Yarran - Cloke - Houlihan
F: Betts - Fevola - Garlett :thumbsu:

Watching him crash that pack in the last and knock himself out I was pretty impressed. Made me wonder for a second if we'd kept the right Cloke. Maybe if science could meld all the Clokes together you'd have a brilliant player.

I agree. Not a huge fan of Cloke but last night showed me that he is ahead of most others on that list. He's not in our best 22 but at his best he can prove quite handy.

On the other hand Brad Fisher, Adam Hartlett goodbye.

Cloke fan. He needs to stop comming into the seniors to ruck. He isn't a ruckman. It seems to mess him up and he struggles. But last night he was left in the forward line kicked 5 and considering the poor delivery could have had a couple more goals. Was probley the best Carlton listed player for the night. I agree Fisher & Hartlett gone. Neither have any trade value. Fisher was consistentley put to shame by run of the mill vfl players.

I always rated him up forward, couldn't understand Malthouse playing him in the ruck and now Ratten does the same thing to him. Leave him in a forward pocket as a second tall or on the HFF and he'll do fine. Can kick straight too, unlike Trav.

FFS if a fat overweight and slow hack like Marc Grieg can play well in an VFL granny, this doesn't say much for the standard of the comp.

As a forward, he has something to offer, but as a ruck he is shithouse! I have thought this all season.

If anything, maybe he has proven enough for another club to want him. He could be useful for a few clubs.

No, you have it backwards - you did have a brilliant player: David. Then his DNA was meshed with their mother's...

David kicked 8 (against us I think) in his last game aged 36. Not much doubt about the best Cloke.

Cameron should at least try growing a mo or something; I don't think the tough stickers are going to do much for him!:D

Biggest problem for Cam is his consistency, or lack of it. His best is ok, but his worst is terrible. I still maintain if we can get 20+ goals out him during the home & away season, then he has done his job. Problem is, i'm just not sure if he has 20+ goals a season in him.

Big fan of cc. He averaged 3 goals a game at vfl level and needs to be given more of a run at chf ff for the blues.
Has he been given that 1 year contract extension he was promised:confused:

Yeah you would not want to congratulate a bloke CP
I better not continue or I might be considered bias hey General!

Its evident Cloke is a good VFL Player, infact if he was told he had a full year in the VFL playing full forward 80 goals wouldnt be out of the question. Cloke wont get the best out of himself at Carlton as a forward. The ball to Fevola is just to substantial for Cloke to get 5 or 6 oppurunities a match. Unfortunately for Cloke, the club will use Kruezer up forward a bit more next year, and will use Hampson and Warnock in the ruck. He will remain ont he list next year, if he isnt traded, but the oppurtunities will be limited once again, perhaps due to the Clubs relentless approach to Youth.

We need a Max Rooke type, most of those forwards couldn't pull skin off a rice pudding............

Cloke has to be culled if this club wants to move foward next year.

VFL level is probably where he is at now, truth be told.

I'd be happy for Cloke to stay on the list next year as a depth player. Not best 22 material by any stretch, but if Fev misses games he would be an option to come in and play full-forward.

By the way, I think the club should trial Mark Austin as a FF during a NAB cup game or two. I've got him pencilled in as our CHB next year, but also wouldn't mind it if he was thrown forward occasionally.

Aussie has all the attributes of a potential FF - very fast, strong and a good pair of hands. His defensive pressure would also be excellent in the forward fifty, and he can lay a crunching tackle.

Worth a shot I reckon...

The guy played 11 senior games this year and only played two bad ones, which were the two before he was dropped.. When he went back to the Ants he performed very well earning his spot back, which is more than what one of our so called leaders did in the Ants.. He kicked bags of goals and earnt his way back into the seniors, and his final against Brisbane was a solid performance.. This crap that he cant play at AFL level is exactly that.
He has earnt another contract and should be given one..
