NOis he the younger brother of John Rayner, who was a rookie at Bombers?
He has put on about 6kg of muscle.Has apparently grown to 189/190cm I think he will be hard to pass up in the top 5 and seems a top 10 certainty
Scary prospect the top 10 for this draft is looking stronger than last yearsHe has put on about 6kg of muscle.
Still some slight differences but yep very similar and they have both showed in their underage years that they can impact forward but both should be gun mids when they reach there primeChristian Petracca is such a good player comparison for Rayner. They are almost identical prospects right down to the way they move.
DRAFT prospect Cameron Rayner has shown his bag of tricks with a best-afield display in the NAB AFL Academy's 20th anniversary match at the MCG.
The explosive half-forward kicked three goals from 23 disposals and steered his side to a 46-point win.
Rayner was added to the academy last year after an impressive bottom-aged season when he booted 17 goals in eight games for the Western Jets, and the 187cm talent's marking, smarts around goal and power were on show in the game on Sunday.
He was very good, certain top 10 pick and firmly in the mix for top 5 for me
I think alot of people have had him top 10 for awhile, he has jumped to 3rd after starting at 6. Late call ups to the AIS usually turn out being high picks just look at McClugagge from last yearHe'd be flying up the ratings at the moment
Were McGrath and Taranto in the AFL Academy?I think alot of people have had him top 10 for awhile, he has jumped to 3rd after starting at 6. Late call ups to the AIS usually turn out being high picks just look at McClugagge from last year
Nope both and from other sporting backgrounds and had school commitments so was harder for them to stand out when academy players where decided upon. Were McGrath and Taranto in the AFL Academy?
Hard to see him slipping past Brisbane's pick. Long season to go, so plenty of time for players to move around on team big boards, but he looks good as the early number 1.Would be a good year to have pick 1....
In all seriousness though this kid looks a jet, literally has everything, pace strength skill bit of x-factor, if we end up with a top 5 pick from the Hawks I'd love to snap him up
Yeah certainly is the complete package thus farHard to see him slipping past Brisbane's pick. Long season to go, so plenty of time for players to move around on team big boards, but he looks good as the early number 1.
