Once again tonight's commentators referred to Campbell Brown as being "nearly as tough as his old man", or words to that effect.
Maybe some of our aging Sandgropers might be able to fill me in on a few of Mal's more courageous feats in the WAFL, but such acts of bravery and real toughness certainly eluded my young eyes in the early 70's Veef.
From a dedicated Tiger fan, I can honestly say that Mal Brown was far from tough - a loudmouthed, brainless, brutal thug maybe, but certainly not tough.
Now Campbell Brown IS tough. He's brave, smart, skillful and already far better value to the Hawks than his old man ever was at Tigerland.
Best of luck to the lad. Keep backing into the packs, picking yourself up off the deck and showing true toughness.
