I feel Campo will have a good year if he isn't expected to be one of the star on-ballers. If guys like Dyson, Monfries, Watson, Lovett, etc. can step up and become the teams main midfield group and Campo can play off a wing or half back flank and rotate through the midfield then he will be very damaging because he can really hurt teams with his pin point disposal.

Where do you think his best spot is windy ?

I like him but i've noticed quite a decline in his pace the last couple seasons and he's always been reliant on that. Makes him ripe to be overtaken if Winderlich and Dyson and those sorts finally put it together.

Contract season though, which helps.

campo seems like one of those players that if the team starts playing well he feeds off that and plays well him self with his footskills. if essendon are to make a run for the 8 he is going to have to have a good season.

Getting a bit long in the tooth isnt he? had a lot of injuries in the past, i have my doubts if he will make it through, hows he been trg?

He hardly had an injury through his whole career, untill he came to Essendon.
Since then, hes had a LOT of soft tissue injuries, but i think the recent one is an ankle.

He will still be a handy link player, but his position will come under pressure, if some of the younger players make improvements

Would not be in any 22 I would select for the opening round if we had close to a full list available.

This a vital year for Campo.
If the young guns push for senior selection, he's out of the team.

Start in the middle and drift back/forward, superb reader of the play, I`m expecting a big year.

When was the last time Campo started in the middle? ;)

He just doesn't have the legs to play there anymore and is best suited to the flanks where he can receive the ball.

Id say he and Heffernan would be contesting the same spot in our side. Their ability to read the ball at stoppages is their strengths, but I agree with many who feel they're not an automatic selection in our best side. Both handy, but not vital to our side's success.
