I very much doubt it. I think the 76ers have overtaken them during the off-season.

As for Toronto, everything depends on JO. If he is fit they will be scary. 2 post players who demand double teams and guys like Kapono and Calderon waiting for the kick-out...

JO doesn't really demand a double. But I agree if he's healthy, they're scary - because he has never really wanted to be the number one offensive guy, through his whole career.

All he needs to do is rebound, block shots and defend. If he's even 80% fit he can do all three better than most players in the NBA. Bosh can go berserk on offense.

Its pretty bad. Still, Eric Dampier was worse. Not because of the money involved, but because Cuban wasn't prepared to give Nash 60 mil, and said he had to be traded for salary reasons... then goes and blows 70 mil on Eric Dampier.

In hindsight, however Nash wasnt going to win 2 MVPs with us. Dirk and Finley werent the ideal players to pair with him. Marion and Amare were.

Also, teams HAVE to overpay for centers (look at LaFrentz, Nene even past scrubs like McIlvaine and Lo Wright). We used to get punded inside but the combo of Damp and Diop mean we do have 2 good defensive stoppers in there.

He was always doubled at Indiana. He'll score or draw a foul most times if teams don't pay him that respect.

I don't know. If the Mavs had of gone for D'Antoni, guys like Finley and Dirk would have been perfect (great shooters always kick arse in D'Antoni's sytem).

Yeah that's true.

Hedo definitely needs the ball. I'd imagine he'd have one of the highest usage rates for SFs in the league.

I know that he isn't a great catch-and-shoot guy, but dioes he really need to dominate the ball that much? Most times I've watched him, sure he shoots off the dribble, but he's not an elite playmaker.

Watch him more. If I had to come up with a comparison, it'd be a 6"9 Manu Ginobili without the athleticism.

Mind you, before this season he probably didn't dominate it as much, which is why he sucked (relatively speaking).

edit: As far as adding something constructive goes - trading for Hinrich or Billups makes a lot of sense to me, but not sure they have the pieces to get it done.
