I downloaded the microsoft update thing that comes up on my comp, and now the bit where i type in an address for a site has gone. Does anyone know where i can get it back from?
Hope someone can help me.

you can probably fiddle with your toolbar settings... go to view > toolbars >

and there should be something in there to turn your location bar back on.... Apologies for the vagueness, I'm on my Mac now, and couldn't be bothered turning on my PC to have a look.

This can be adjusted by right-clicking on a space (near back, forward, stop, refresh, home buttons etc) and make sure Address bar is checked.

Hopefully thats will resolve it, cheers.

Well you might be able to just move your most around until you get arrows and then pull them sideways and up and down and see what happens.

Yep tried that as well, nothing happened, thanks anyway.

Yep just did that as well, and it has a tick next to it.For some reason up the top of the page i can only see the back button, then next to it it has >> and i click that and it has the rest of the buttons.
Geez i wish i didnt do the update thing now.

You are talking about Internet Explorer, right?

To reset the toolbars, go to http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/ietips.htm and follow the instructions under "Odd Toolbar Behaviour".

Just make sure all IE windows (including the instruction page) are shut before you run the reg file and don't worry about rebooting.

Bon chance
