I remember as a kid asking the guy who took me to games how we got our top players. He explained to me the zones and schrewd recruiting of GR with Jack Dyer by his side on trips when grabbing an interstate star.

Wonder what Richmond supporters today tell thier kids today when they ask how we got Deledio,Cotchin and Martin.

"We got them because we were Shit son."

BUT how good will it be to tell them our our journey to the AFL flag from league laughing stock for 30 years

I agree with Richo, Bird Man. Many players would have at least watched him with interest while growing up and he would be a great representative.

Not sure about Cuzz though, Ill never feel comfortable with the fact that he is held up as a legend of the club after two years at the club in his last days of footy. Im sure young blokes would look up to him but its a shame that when it comes to most popular players of recent times he comes in almost second.

Living in Sydney the only real player most young people talk about or have talked about is Benny and Ben would say join this club because it was the only club that gave me a chance.. And he said when he retired he felt more like a tiger in his two years than a falcon for west coast

That's interesting that he is talked about up there. I guess if it assists get us a player who will be one of ours for his whole career in the future then we should use it if we can.

Didnt Daffy wow them with his career with the Swans such that we could use him?
