Great to see the Blues officially announce Kouta as captain for 2006. Lappin, Stevens and Whitnall are vice-captains. Would have liked to see Waite as a vice-captain, maybe next year.

Yeah well I'm happy and I'm not, would have preffered Stevens to get the job so he gets a good, decent feel for it before Kouta leaves. Waite as Vice next season one would hope.

This should definately be the last year at the helm for Kouta. I'm not sure he'll play next year anyway just based on the contract situation we're going to have at the end of the year. If we're in cost cutting mode, which it looks like we are, Kouta is going to take a massive hit.

You also get the feeling Carlton is aiming at landing a really big fish recruit by throwing money at them. The Kosi situation last year is evident of that.

Glad to see Kouta captain again, would not have made Lappin Vice-Captain though after creating a stand-off between the club and himself before finally signing because no other club was interested.

Kouta is the most recognised player at Carlton, he is basically the spirit of our side. When a youngster walks past Kouta, they know they are playing for Carlton.

I have no problem with him being captain.

Stevens is more of an on field leader though, but it will be good to see Lance and Lappin also officially help out with on field leading.
