Looking to sell my car and wanted it to get it detailed/fixed up. There's a couple scratches courtesy of shopping centre trolleys that need to be cleared up as well as the ceiling material needing to be fixed (it's unglueing itself).

btw, I'm not very mechanically / car minded. So these questions are in layman's terms :o

Where do I take the car to get these things done?

Depending on the severity of the body damage, a "car detailer" will be able to get rid of most scuffs ON the paint and polish away many scrathes so long as they aren't all the way through the clear coat/paint and through to base coat.

Mobile paintless dent removal (google it in your area) can touch up a lot of imperfections.

Panel beater/crash repairer for respray if things are bad. They will give you a basic free quote if you go there and say it'll be cash work as they usually get bottom dollar from insurance companies for crash repairs..

The sagging roof lining, if you don't want to unscrew/unclip interior trim and re glue it yourself can be fixed by a "motor trimmer" for a small fee. Not a huge job.

All of the above may not need doing. I guess it's up to you to weigh up the output vs input, expenditure vs reward etc.

Consider the age of the car. Not many on the market are perfectly straight and people may not want to pay extra for you to recoup your costs. You may lose money fixing things.

All the best with the sale.
