Wonder if Carlisle will be hit with a fine like that of North Melbourne players for stuffing around with a Toy chicken. $420K for a questionable video of a toy chicken, better to film yourself taking a line of coke by the look of it, less offensive to the AFL infact less offence that giving the bird to the Cameras like Cousins did.

I guess at the end of a rough day he can go home and relax in a bathtub full of money.

i just don't get people who think like this. do you genuinely believe anyone in the world goes home and smiles a warm smile because of what's in their bank account?

Also helps with over crowding of prisons when you put the pushers to death instead of housing them. Seems like a win/win for the Singapore givernment

except they've managed to execute a whopping 4 people in the past 5 years for drugs yet have a high prevalence of drugs in the country.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-02-26/fact-check3a-does-the-death-penalty-deter3f/6116030

"If capital punishment had a deterrent effect on drug trafficking, this would lead to less drug trafficking, and therefore higher wholesale drug prices, in Singapore. However, wholesale drug prices for both cocaine and heroin were significantly higher in Indonesia than in Singapore from 2003 to 2006, and drugs generally were more prevalent in Singapore than Indonesia in that period, indicating that drug trafficking was not deterred as a result of Singapore's high levels of capital punishment," the article says.

It's well known that a greater likelihood of arrest is more of a deterrent than a harsher sentence

And in the weird and wonderfull world of Blackshadow lets not even make it illegal and see if anymore AFL coaches are murdered whilst they sleep by their own siblings

Siblings? You fool.

Yes they do unfortunalty but this could have been prevented if he wasnt an addict. But thats not the point here, the point is the AFL should take a stand against its players acting illegally, as Luke Hodge should have had consequences by the AFL for his DUI, these players have a public profile, can you imagine if a politician had snorted a line of coke posted and had it posted on social media, can you see them enjoying their job in the future, AFL players who probably earn more and are idioilsed by the yoouth of Australia will not even cop a consequence, it will be nothing like that politician who may aswell say his career would be well and truly over. Infact if a Truck Driver did that and his employer found out in the majority of cases they would sack him, in fear of him causing an accident and killing someone.

DUI? Not a law in Australia, clown.

As for on Holidays, take a stab in the dark if any politician whether it be state or federal was on Holidays and had a vid posted of them snorting a line of coke. What do you think the consequences he would be facing when he returned?

What did the AFL have to do with Boris the Rooster video that the North players including the ring leader none other than the West Coast coach got fined $420000 for making

$420,000? Pulled that right out of your arse. It was $5,000 x two players plus a club donation to charity of $10,000. Do you have any concept of money? Do you really think it is remotely possible that a footballer be fined nearly half a million dollars?

Are you, like, 15 years old?

Weed was half legalized years ago for personal use, its the hard drugs which wont be.
Is there a more ridiculous term than 'hard drugs'? Alcohol is more addictive and more dangerous than ecstasy, but one is a hard drug and the other is socially acceptable. The entire issue of how we manage drugs has been a giant utensil up from the start and is already being reassessed. Some law makers are among those questioning the War on Drugs, including the UN's own drugs agency. You are on the wrong side of history.

Your irrational appeals to emotion don't work on me. The problems you describe would be eased under regulation. Addicts could seek medical help rather than having to hide their illness out of fear of being arrested. Turning sick people into criminals makes things worse, not better.

Luckily it makes no difference what you think your opinion counts for nothing. The government has firm views on drugs and with the amount if resources they are putting into the problems at regional centres there will not be a change to make them legal from either political party.

Unless you plan on starting your own party or lobbying the government your opinion is worthless.

Our conservative government is already moving towards allowing medicinal marijuana, other Western countries, including the U.S. have gone the legalisation route. The tide is turning and it will be your opinion that no longer carries the weight you seem to think it does.

It seems to me that you have had a bad experience with drugs (someone you know, perhaps) and I can understand why that would set you against them. But your arguments in this thread have been irrational and lacking in logic. You regurgitate simplistic 'drugs are bad, m'kay' slogans without considering nuance. You're quick to point out Singapore's laws, why not do a little research and read up on Portugal as well.

Yes I agree, and the fact drugs are illegal, another good decision by our elected policy makers. Although reading plenty of articles you would find the two major parties have similar views on the subject. Wonder why that is?
Once again you continue to ignore that this is not the case, proving your ignorance continually.

It all goes back to the US and prohibition. Our government has little say on drug laws, there's a reason they're illegal everywhere and it all revolves around the US.

Can't wait for your rebuttal involving they're illegal for good reason again.

I still think we're decades, possibly even lifetimes away from any real progress sadly.

There won't be changes because the US dictates it, and the only drug they are changing their stance on so far is Marijuana.

Our government continues to waste people's money and time with their stupid scare scaremongering tactics and campaigns that do nothing except create a culture (particularly older people's views) that every person who uses an illicit drug will become a machete toting ice addict with no clue regarding what they're doing. Meanwhile studies continuously show that most of the illicit drugs are comparable with alcohol when it comes to damage, addiction etc and in some cases lower.

But yeah, continue to try and pathetically dig up Phil Walsh's death to try and justify this stupid war. Did the police's efforts stop his son from gaining access to unregulated ****ed up ice (or whatever it was)? Nope.

Everyone's an advocate until they damage themself with a drug in the exact way they were warned would happen.
