I thought we could have a thread were every Carlton supporter on big footy
states how many games they think Carlton can seriously win next year and one player they look forward too seeing next year (apart from Judd)

Now i think 10 to 12 wins should be the aim, considering we have won 3 to 4 games in the last 6 years (forgetting 2004 of course)
That might mean an eighth place at the MOST,2009 should be the year we look for a grand final spot,of course anything is possible but we have to be realistic!

And the player i'm looking forward to seeing is shaun hampson,i have only seen him once but i was impressed,he was probably the only highlight to what was a painful round 22 game against the demons.

The reason i think we can win 10 to 12 games is because this year we lost alot of close games (call it lack of confidence or experience)but i believe that wont be a problem in 2008-we wont be world beaters but we will worry alot of opposition teams!

Just my thoughts-Yours?

I realistically believe that the club can win 8-11 wins next years, narrowly missing out of the 8. The players that I am looking forward to seeing this year are

1) Murphy, with the acquisition of Judd and with Stevo coming back from injury he will receive the 3rd tagger every week and should explode onto the scene.

2) In addition I believe Tex Walker will have a huge year once we put him in the midfield where he belongs!

3) I agree with the above comments on Shaun Hampson. The key I noticed with him is his athletic ability. Give hims some time under his belt and Hampson/Kruezer are going to be an amazing ruck combo in 3 years time

After reviewing the draw....i have penciled in 11 wins that i think we can honestly win....which will get us between 10th - 8th

I think Carlton have been given a very favorable draw in 2008

Players i'm excited to watch next year, albeit from Europe :( via AFL.com
- O'hAilpin Brothers
- Murphy
- Fisher
- Jackson

- and Bannister in his 2 games against PA, just to show Chad how to play!

“Just playing football with my friends, Stevens, Murphy,
Judd, Carrazzo, Scotland, Hadley, Gibbs, Simpson and Jackson
and they have been hitting me lace out every time!!!!”

^^ haha you can't list the whole team buddy! Anything over 9 games would be fantastic - A win I most desperately want to see is Blues vs Hawks in the last round. My bro and I are flying down to barrack for our respective teams... sibling rivalry at its best :thumbsu:

I'm not sure whether we will finish top 8 this year but i do beleive that we will be very close..hopefully the team can show us the light at the end of the tunnel, really looking foward to murph having a big year..he was tagged out of it last eyar adn will benefit from the quality midfield that we boast now...another really exciting prospect will be Hampson and A.O'hailpin

I've had a bit of a look @ the draw and IMO if all went extremely well we might pull of as many as 14 wins!

I would be disapointed with anything less than 8.

Aisake - If this guy plays in the seniors in the ruck, he will dramaticly improve the structure of our team.

Anything is possible this year IMO.

We have a bunch of talented kids and a bunch of 50 to 100 gamers who are ready to take the next step.

The best player in the league is one of us. An idol to probably 70% (probably more) of our list. Our best midfielder prior to Juddy is coming back from a near career ending injury. The kids love Stevo and I know this because I have seen and heard direct from the horses mouth how much respect they have for him (I don't know who feeds you information The Heatley Stand but it's utter crap!)

The simple fact of the matter is... we don't know the impact that Judd and Stevo into the side will have on the entire team and we definately cannot underestimate it! Not only is it an injection of class but more importantly it's an injection of experience, something we have lacked for a very long time.

The player I am most interested in seeing in 2008 is Fev.

We all witnessed his on-field brain explosions this year and I guess you're bound to get frustrated standing at FF with the ball being delivered as poorly as it did for majority of the season.

Well, no more excuses Fev!!! (except for maybe a hole in your chest from the passes you will be on the receiving end of!) It's time to grow up and rise to another challenge!

Anything is possible in 2008 and I bloody can't wait!! :thumbsu:

8-10 wins realistically... but if we win a few close ones like essendon last year then 10-12 wins:thumbsu:

I would like to see murph just rip the game apart next year.... and see hampson cement a spot in the best 22.

Just make the 8 or just miss it
finish 10th-7th

I cant see why not...
We have arguably the best midfielder in Judd and the best FF in Fevola
Best opposition tagger goes to Judd...
Stevo, Murphy and Simspon get released and do some serious damage
Im worried about forward line depth though

forward line is not a problem. fev next year has to kick a heap of goals. this year he had a small excuse, delivery was not perfect, but with judd and stevens back, and murphy barely tagged, with gibbs hopefully in the centre now, he SHOULD easily get coleman.
looking forward to watching walker next year though, should get a few stints in the centre. also looking forward to seeing hampson, i didnt even see him this year although he sounds impressive. cant wait for 08

I think knocking on the door of the 8 should be the goal. Somewhere around 10 wins would be great after a lean few years. Would love to just see us competitive each week -those 100 point thrashings were really starting to get me down.

Looking forward to seeing if Jamison can possibly slot into a key position back line spot. We need it quite badly!

Everyone keeps talking about Aisake being in the ruck, along with Hampson, Cloke, Ackland etc. Where does this leave Kreuzer for next year given that he's good enough to slot straight into the 1's?
