Fairly unsurprising what Hollands' issue might be, considering his past.

I don't think there's a whole lot to McKay being out for personal reasons. From his description on the podcast he does with his brother, it sounds like he experienced some depressive symptoms which required him to step away from club duties for a bit. To have 2 players out of 40-odd step away from the club for personal reasons isn't a particularly noteworthy stat either; it's something like 5% or less of the entire playing group. Most people go through issues at some point or another.

I'm not sure what the go with Hollands is, but when it comes to the Carlton board and all those powerbrokers, well, anything goes.

What's the issue?
Elijah has a drug problem. We knew that when we got him. We took a risk that a change of environment, playing with his brother and being closer to family would get him back on track. Was great last year, seems to have had a relapse.

Harry has/had some legit mental health concerns.

Sayers is an idiot and made his role untenable.

All things are unrelated and don't point to a larger issue. Not saying everything is perfect at Ikon Park, but these 3 separate things don't point to anything.

bumping this, I suspect more to come out soon, also from what I hear all of this is LOCKING VOSS IN. There is NO way they are sacking voss this season even if they finish 3rd last. MAYBE if they come 2nd last he will be sacked mid year

It'd have to be an awfully big dustpan to hold all the stuff they try to sweep under their rug. Or it's just a regular sized one, but in the vein of Mary Poppins' bag where an infinite amount of stuff can seemingly be magically shrunk to fit inside - where the normal laws of physics don't apply.

TBH, this just doesn’t apply to the AFL/Carlton. It’s all sports, and, at all levels. The standard and competence of sports administration is woefully inadequate. Borderline incompetent. Lurch from controversy to controversy. Most would struggle to gain employment outside of the industry.

The various iterations of the Carlton board have screwed their supporters royally for 30 years.

If they gave Voss some actual assistants instead of favourite sons they might make something of their excellent core group.

They were successful for a few decades by being slimy powerbrokers, now they have wannabes who don't know how to run a club honestly.
