Jack is Carlton through and through. No way he would request a trade.

He will try his guts out until he makes it at Carlton or is delisted.

Personally I still feel he makes it at Carlton.
Carlton need to work out what position is best for Jack or Jack needs to work out what’s best for him

That Jon Ralph article on poor Paddy Dow today was one of the most disgraceful pieces of 💩💩💩 I have ever read. Putting a 2nd year kid, clearly down on luck and confidence.

And some of those idiots in the media wonder players suffer from depression/mental health issues this days.

If you haven't read it, don't bother, what I would ask is where on Earth did Ralphy get his Media Accreditation and Journalistic Diploma from ? Sunshine Tafe ??

Can see this in the way they're playing. Not enough freedom, brain farts and poor decision making comes from that information overload. This seems very believable.

Wasnt that the way ratten coached- trouble was the defensive side of our game suffered. Pagan did his best to get results - at the expense of player development long term. Both were criticized strongly at the time. Malthouse was another matter.
Now what Bolton is doing is coaching for the long term. He might be confusing some of the younger players in the short term - overloading them /challenging them and short term results may be suffering- but should we demand that he give up? Just when the signs are that we are turning the corner? Last year IIRC it was suggested that Cuningham didnt get the game plan and was suffering because of it. This year- he is a different player. So is Weitering.
We should never forget that we have young players who are being challenged strongly with complex game plans that will ultimately bring success. I for one do not want another coach, until he has been proven to not have the right strategy. Everything bolts is saying and doing is according to plan and should be supported. It is natural for us to compare ourselves to other rebuild cliubs, but comparing us to GC and Brisbane is not correct because they did not strip out all their experienced players to the same extent that we have. Gws is the closest analogy.
We need to be patient. We have not been flogged in any of our games so far and we should have won against GC. Richmond, Port and swans are good teams and hard to beat. Had we been flogged by 2-3 teams already, then I would be talking differently.

What a load of shit.

They don't even know who our List Manager is. Muppets.
It would be handy for a player in that situation to have access to some good advice from an experienced and caring list manager.............. hang on.

Since when has background/facts been needed to write a BS story like that?? Just typical trying to sink the boots in because they can't get any joy from us re: sacking Bolton so they need to find other avenues.

I found the article on Bolton mildly depressing, because it's consistent with my worst suspicions - that Bolton's management-speak and penchant for cliches and analogies just confuse the hell out of the players.
Bolton is just 1 of many voices the players hear each week there's many influences on players from many areas of a club these days .
Its not like the old days when a coach was almost the only voice players heard regarding training and match day .
Think this is just a media beat up tbh .

Are our assistant coaches the issue. Who can do a job better than bolts. It’s like everyone expects us to be top 8 or something

I agree on all points.

Players like Jack, tall, not blessed with natural speed and leap, but with good hands and great footy IQ, take longer to find a place at the next level

Just like Watson and Kennedy at the Swans, they also took a while

Spot on Arrow! Jack has the natural talent and footy IQ. And he is also in an ongoing process to improve his midfield craft after predominantly playing as a forward from his junior days.

AFAIC, he should already be in the seniors and could provide valuable help in the middle and rotate forward and be dangerous there as well

Yeah I reckon his best bet is as an inside mid, with the flexibility to go forward.

I reckon he has it in him to make a 20 year career but sadley don't think he'll get there at Carlton

They sure did.

I didn't think JSilvagni would make it on talent alone, but his effort is undeniable.
Even on the weekend, he simply gave his all on the ground and along with Kreuzer, was our best for the day.
Missed a goal he could have kicked and let out one very audible, '****' He was quite unhappy with himself in a reserves game.

Jack also looks taller to me than he was a year or two ago. Is this the case?
One other thing that was noticeable about him last Sunday, was that his lateral movement was better than it was a couple of years back.
I was somewhat surprised how quickly he could change direction.
