I like to think this rivalry is like the AFL equivalent of the Boston Celtics vs The Lakers.
This is a season defining game for us right now, lose and we miss the 8 again. Win and we're a chance. (That's of course if Freo get the job done against Port.. which should more than likely happen.)

If we played as good as we did against Richmond yesterday (with the exception of the 1st quarter & probably Josh Bootsma) we should win this game.
But tbh ya never know with the team we have now.

I'm going to avoid talking up the Blues with my mates this week just so I don't cope it later on.

Their cv already reads systematic salary cap cheats and draft tampering and now they are adding doping cheats to it as well.

And even mention their corrupt former president when became the AFL president who covered up their cheating to win a premiership and awarded the contract to catering at all AFL grounds to spotless... Which he owned.

So... All round scum of a club!

Honestly, if Essendon were to be bumped from the finals due to loss of points and it put us in, not only would I take it, but it would be the greatest moment for the clubs history against Essendon since the 99 prelim. think of the rivalry!

I hear you. My wife bought my 4 year old a red and black booster seat (safest on the market supposedly)... almost made her take it back and buy a crappy one.

Boy was that painful for them! I hope we win since I don't like them very much.

Fave Memory:
- 99 Prelim - going to have to be a pretty ridiculous game to ever top my feeling at the end of that game. It is my favourite game of ALL TIME, let alone favourite game between these two clubs.
- The other memorable one was in 2007 when Fevalenko bagged 8 in that ridiculous comeback.
- I will also hold close to my heart the absolute shelacking in the 2011 finals. I was there and had a very ill feeling about 7 minutes in when they kicked the first three. But from then on, bloody onslaught.

Worst Memory:
- 2 final quarter fadeouts. The first I cannot remember the year (probably because I've tried to block it from my mind). I was sitting in the members while Scott Lucas & Matthew Lloyd orchestrated a Bomber comeback from 30 points down at 3 quarter time.
- The other one was earlier this year - so gutting.
- 1993.....SoS touched that kick!
