First post. I'm going to use it to wish the boys luck against the Eagles this afternoon. We beat them earlier this year but it will be a lot tougher this time.
They are certainly going a lot better than they were then and the home ground advantage will, as usual, be significant. But here's hoping. :)

That was a hard game for us to win today...

I'm actually dissapointed with our game, you may say thats a bit harsh considering we were playing against a quality, strong, quick and skilful midfield.

Waite was dissapointing, he looks out of sorts, but keep him in the side for the rest of the year.

Harford will get dropped - no choice really, I feel sorry for him.. but Carrazo needs a game.

I'm really annoyed with our kicking in abilities, I watch other teams and they kick it long, clear it, run it, in a matter of seconds it's in there 50...

We kick short and cough it up!

I hope Lance plays a blinder the next two weeks, that will boost his potential to get better players with a trade... I like Lance, top bloke, and was a good player - but let's trade him while we can, fair statement?

Well it looks like I'm a bit of a jinx. :(
Once again a poor third quarter effort has meant a blow-out in a game where we could at the very least have managed a creditable defeat.
I was actually heartened by the last quarter effort, even though the game was gone, because the West Coast had a lot to play for in terms of boosting their percentage with an eye to a place in the finals.
Tend to agree about Lance. I was a huge supporter but his mind is demanding things that his body is not capable of anymore. Whether to trade him or not will no doubt depend on what's offerred.
Stevens was head and shoulders above any other Carlton player to-day and showed why he was worth the effort to get him.
Fevola has been, shall we say erratic, since his suspension. He did some good things to-day but at other times looked awkward and un-disciplined. Had he had his kicking boots on he could quite easily have finished with 3 or 4 though.
On the whole -disappointing, but the opposition is playing some very good football at the moment (maybe not as good as our third quarter would suggest) and we are in a situation where most of the players are looking forward to the end of season trip.

The Blues need a Strong bodied key defender in the draft period.

How about Patrick Wiggins?

Gee Pat Wiggins & Livvo to hold down the defensive posts...............

I somehow think that these two bloke will be employed by the same entity nest year..............

I dissagree about livo, i think he well on lloyd and mcdougal (only 8 touches and 2 goals, after killing it vs brisbane).

I think he could bulk up into a fb, pushing thornton to chb or a running defender.

What we need is pace through the midfield and a couple of dashing defenders, taigh kennely types.

Not to mention a decent ruckman (jolly maybe?).

Crumming fwds ... the list goes on.

Livvo has a long long long way to go - still. :(
An interesting point is the one you bring up with Jolly.
I have thought the same & mentioned it other Melb mates I have.
I wonder if Jamar is worth a punt.
Considering the time it takes to develop ruckmen Melb would want a lot for jolly.

Do we really need a ruckman guys?

Maybe we can pick one up in the draft and develop him, French is trying hard - maybe we need to give Mott a go, I know he is not the hardest worker though...

I'd prefer to concentrate on a decent CHB, midfielder, crumbing forward and then a ruckman.

One thing that was clear at the game was that Barnaby French was definetly not adequate enough to be a number 1 ruckman. At one stage Cox had won 12 hitouts in a row. If i was Carlton a new ruckman would be first on my list which Carlton should target in the draft because the clubs before them will most likely not pick up a ruckman which would leave the no 1 ruckman to you guys..

We do need another ruckman. It has shown this year that French does ok against ordinary rucks but tends to struggle against the better names, but we also require a experienced, tall, strong defender, nothing against Teague and co. they have done an awesome job this year, but the truth is we lack the strength when it comes to those man on man situations. Our selectors have a lot to do!!

ur right, he's not the hardest worker at all..he's useless

the draft pick we get at 7 or 8 should give us first crack at the best ruckman in the draft..
