Sick of reading all these threads about other issues when we play our first game in 6 months tomorrow night, so thought I'd get the ball rolling on pre-match discussions.

Personally im most looking forward to seeing Judd & Stevens out there together, after all these months of waiting, finally we'll see Judd, Stevens, Murph, Simpson and Carazzo all in the midfield together...will be exciting stuff.

How much gametime do people expect Judd to play? Will Judd and Stevens likely rotate and spend a bit of time on the bench do you reckon?

Im just hoping we dont get off to another poor start, it seemed to be a big weakness in the pre-season.

Discuss.

I doubt that Stevens and Judd will be rotated with each other...youd want both on the ground for more than 50%...and Judd is an inside mid, Stevens is outside...different types of players.

CARLTON
B: Michael Jamison, Ryan Houlihan , Bret Thornton
HB: Shaun Grigg, Jarrad Waite, Heath Scotland
C: Bryce Gibbs, Chris Judd, Kade Simpson
HF: Richard Hadley, Adam Hartlett, Andrew Carrazzo
F: Eddie Betts, Brendan Fevola, Setanta O’hAilpin

F: Cameron Cloke, Nick Stevens, Marc Murphy

Int: Jordan Bannister, Paul Bower, Jake Edwards, Ryan Jackson

Emg: Darren Pfeiffer , Jordan Russell, Jason Saddington

New: Jake Edwards (From Melton/Western Jets under-18. Taken at No.36 in the 2005 NAB AFL Draft.), Richard Hadley (Brisbane Lions), Chris Judd (West Coast Eagles)

Evidently there is some new guy called Judd playing for you

Strange things can happen in round 1, but we should win this one by a large margin and it's ours to lose. It's important to our confidence to get this one in the bank and I'm looking forward to many spectacular plays from Judd, but moreso from Gibbs, Murphy and Simpson.

A bit of a downer that Setanta has to ruck, but it's better than him not being available at all.

GO BLUES!

I'm confident Gibbs will also be ripping it apart in there with his new found muscles -hardly resembles the skinny boy he was out on the field last year, no doubt why you didn't mention him :)

How do we have the right to be so confifent. Richmond won't be that bad this year

im not negative at all. I just don't want to be a dick, I am realistic. If we win tomorrow night it will be a really really great effort.

I bloody hope we do but i just don't want to be cocky about it

We will win by 22 Points...

Around 5-6 Goals up at 3/4 time but fade towards the end of the game!

Edwards to start at CHF and make an impact...
Cloke is almost the most important player for us, will need to take most of the ruck duties and around ground ruckwork...
Could also impact deep in the forward half...

Richo and Brown will be hard to stop

Go blueboys...

Being confident and being cocky are completely different.
Plus in any sporting field I have stepped on confidence or self belief is vital! But cockiness is like the Power in last years finals. Worlds apart.

If youre not confident going into round one, you shouldnt follow football (not directed at you...just in general).
Maybe if your playing Geelong you wouldnt be cocky, but against most teams, most supporters would become cocky.
But its good to be realistic...then you wont be so annoyed if you lose, but youll still be as happy if you win...you cant go wrong!
