I'm not one of those 'newspapers have it in for us' types and this is not a Caro article but I was amazed at how soft this article came across regarding Hurley's case. The damn cabbie has bashed his head against the players foot to the extent Hurley has lost 10,000 in match payments! Take away the footy skills and this bloke would be in jail. The title of the article alone is so skewed beyond reality. Whose nightmare are we talking about, ffs? The way the perpetrator is made out to be the victim these days - wtf?

Excellent news the judge has not allowed the case to go down the diversion road where no chance of criminal record exists.

All very perplexing. On the same issue in her article Caro manages to dilute violent behaviour down to bad behaviour so as to give Fev a kick in the last paragraphs. She's a honey.

Another interesting true dat is that this thread is just about done having run a couple of weeks about a pretty serious issue and yet it still has 50 posts less and a third of the views that a thread about a made up story about Murph got in just a couple of days and aroused some pretty serious passions about the morality of lies in a thread.

Some skew wiff moral compasses round these parts. True dat!

OF ALL THE ugly incidents that haunted the AFL over the summer, it was the spectre of a teenaged rookie draftee handcuffed to a Carlton senior player as he drunk himself into a paralytic stupor on a pre-Christmas bonding expedition that tarnished the image of the game and a football club.
This might sound extreme in the context of alleged sexual assault, drunken violence and a drug trafficking charge, but the Blues' case pointed to a cultural malaise that was already all too evident. And it is the kind of football club anecdote that every parent of a teenager dreads.

Newman must be in the gun this week.........I'm sure it will happen.

I look forward to Carro retyping Cousins list of incidents, throwing in a former Captains urination scandal......finishing with the new recruits who show more fight off the field and on.......surely Chris Newman has surpassed Judd as the worst leader in the AFL Carro?
