23 going into next season. 199cm and 93kg when last at AFL level (2006). Played 7 games with Essendon and certainly nothing to write home about in his stats, though he has been relatively competitive in the ruck on occasion.

Let's hope he's put on a bit more weight and improved since 2006. He'll be very good value for Coburg and there for promotion to the senior list if needed, which hopefully he isn't. Good luck to him with this 2nd chance.

Yep I agree a 3rd round pick in the rookie draft is such a waste of a pick.

Wasted pick...Funny, ruckmen can take until they are 24 to even start to get regular games. He is only 22 and a ruckmen who has played at AFL level, is a 3rd rookie list pick and may not even be able to play a game if injuries don't occur. How is that a wasted pick...

Is good insurance for AFL and will provide a ruckmen for Coburg who struggled to get ruckmen when Ronaldson and Graham went down

Great move by the RFC.

We need another ruckman who can actually win hitouts as insurance for Troy Simmonds, Tristan is the man. He is a good size (a little light) and impressed in the VFL last year.

Our rucks now consist of Simmonds, Pattison, Graham, Cartledge, Putt... with Putt and Pattison showing foward fifity potential

Yeah Tristan is from my end of town too. He's a big big kid and he went reasonably high initially didn't he? Surprised because I forgot all about him, but happy. Good pick.

i have to agree unfortunately, he was on essendon's list too long. Will only ever be a VFL player so not sure why you would pick him up

Robert Walls at least got it right, ( "Worst shot at goal ever"). But gets a bit windy in that pocket. Although I saw Justin Madden miss one from inside the goal square one day and I think Dorra might be guilty of that too.

I can confirm the answer is no. He is back up ruckman at very best. Soft as butter and hardly touches pill except for a few hit outs.

Which is why he was a worthwhile pick up. We need a ruckmen to take the hurt if Simmonds goes down again so Putt, Graham and to a lesser extent Pattison arnt thrown into the deep end in the hardest position for young players.

Its part of the reason Josh Fraser has broken down so often in the last few years. He has played ruck from a young age with no help.

Most of the Essendon supporters who have posted would not have seen him much this year. He performed very well for North Ballarat; to be picked in the VFL combined side would indicate he was one of the top ruckmen in the comp, so would have to be considered a fair choice as a back up ruckman.
