just heard an interview with somebody from the casey council re your re-development - he tried to say it wont happen, but he certainly seemed to be trying to dodge some pretty direct questions (i.e would he ever go on the board if invited to) - sounded like it could be a real possibility IMO

personally, i think the financial benefits of being out there would be great - a huge chunk of the population which would love having something important associated with their area - members would have a significant rise

but, how do you think your players would feel, having to train and spend so much time, down in cranny - while other clubs train in the city heartland like melbourne, collingwood, richmond, carlton etc. i doubt the young fella's would really enjoy that?

Posters...Saints are not Moving.

This is just a media ploy by Archie as he wanted the council to sign off on the pokie transfer rather than having to go to the Gaming & Licence tribunal who could reduce the machine numbers.

Why would you state..."we are out of here"..."had enough of the council" etc etc and then in same breath state we are still going to pay the lease for the next 30 years, keep our social club and maybe train there?

If Saints keep a presence at Moorabbin then they still have to pay for ground Maintencance, facilities, staff etc etc.... so if we go somewhere else we are now paying up keep on 2 training ovals, facilities, staff etc etc, come on, not even the stupidiest CEO going around would commit to that.

It's what I call the classic Bell ringing......whenever the Hotel Association wants a better deal from Tabcorp or Sky they wheel out Mr Bell every year threatening the good public (their patrons) that Hotels will get rid of TAB's, stop televising SKy etc etc usually around the spring carnival. Saints have little chance of moving than Bell has of going on with his threats.

Give it 48 hours - and a compromise will be forthcoming - too much for both to loose.

Archie - lets not use media to scare you member base - your members are not stupid!

Listened to Archie Fraser on SEN yesterday. The saints are definately moving and IMO it will be great for the club especially if they move to Casey. Casey is the 2nd fastest growing region in Australia behing the gold coast. The financial benefits associated with a move there would be huge.

Back to the original post i am sure that most of the players would rather be located in the city but it is not important. There job is to play football. Cranbourne is closer to Melbourne than Geelong. They also could be on the other side of the country.

GS - I'm extremely confident we are not moving and it is just a media ploy:

1) He talks Casey, however the mayor there has never had any discussions with the club. Port have already stated they will not have us.

2) The club has spent 4 years, $300k (of OUR money) to get to this stage. WHat just throw that against the wall and spend more!

3) The proposal has significant benefits for the community, the team everyone however the straw that breaks the cammels back is the remote chance that we loose some pokie machines - big deal.

4) and as I have stated - the club will then have to pay up-keep on 2 ovals, staff, maintenance etc etc. as we are still keeping our presence at Moorabbin for the 30 years. I bet Archie did not include this into his financial model???

If Archie is going down the path of scrapping the deal, then scrap the thing and keep the status quo. Save the expense of going soewhere else ( what, he reckons he can just set up somewhere else and roll out the pokies?...come on) Just stay at Moorabbin - whats the big deal, all they have to wait for are the next council elections and lobby for it.

Anyway - why haven't the members been put to the vote to decide if we wish to leave Moorabbin?....this will be his & Butters stumbling block

I still reckon everything will come back on track soon

Yeah - how did ya guess.

start walking so you can get rid of that big fat backside would be a start

Thanks CC, though its the frontside that needs attention ;)

No, just looking around for various opinions on the threads that cover this topic and keep coming across your point. Almost like you keep posting it until somebody listens. Fair point, but only really needs to be made once.

And I'll keep posting it whilst wimps keep generating new threads about it - obviously they haven't read it.

The saviour of us all. Can you be the St Kilda mascot? Pleeeaaasseeee? I will post this again, just in case you did not read it.

Now I know why your called Sauce Head.

I have placed it on 2 threads stupid, so don't exaggerate .

How about you post something intellegent or your own opinion or do you just go around dumping on other posters

Casey would be a good area to set-up base. It's a good complex - the ovals are in pristine condition. You would have no idea there is a drought.

I play Cricket in the area and there are massive junior numbers coming out of there, as well as new Cricket clubs, or old Cricket clubs relocating there.
