Well I missed the game last night due to a mates 19th and I was hoping that someone could fill me in on the pros and cons for the dockers from last nights game.
For example
How did the rookies go
How was mcpharlin and longmuir
Will french go for taking out croad
etc
I would prefer a Dockers supporter answer please

thanx.

The Dockers started the game pretty well having the first few shots at goal, pity they didn't put them through.
Of the rookies Medhurst had an interesting duel with Hardwick, well inbetween having hardwick kneeing him in the head that is. For most of the game Port were alot harder at the ball and looked to be dominating in most aspects of the game. McPharlin kicked 2 goals and looked alright without being too impressive. With Croad most likely out for next week I hope brown comes into the team and plays in the backline leaving McPharlin to play in the forward line and kick some goals. He played a fair bit of junior footy in the forward line and spent a bit of time there at the Hawks, so I'd like to see Chris give him a go there.

Longmuir didn't show too much, he took a few good marks and kicked a ripper of a soccer goal, but for most of the match looked pretty slow and was well beaten on the night. He got easily bumped off the ball and looked like his knee was slowing him down a bit.

As for the Croad incident, it happened about 10/15m away from where I was sitting and if French doesn't get 2 weeks, there is something wrong with the system. Croad went in for the shephard and got hit in the temple when French raised his arm and connected with his elbow. Croad was in a lot of trouble, he could hardly stand after the incident and even at the end of the 1st Quarter when he went down into the rooms, he still had no idea what was going on. Hase got a badly corked thigh and couldn't play for at least the second half too.

But to sum up the game, Port played great footy and if it wasn't for their inaccuracy, they could well have beaten us by far more. Port played alot harder than us and made us earn every kick that we got. Hardwick has definitly added some toughness to their backline as well. I thought it was really good after the match when Port stayed on the ground and clapped Kickett off the ground, great touch at the end.

And to the 3 arseclown dockers "supporters" who were going off their heads at the past players and officials who had gathered in the players race to form a guard to honour for Kickett.
It was a bloody Disgrace!!

Freo's early shots at goal were all at terrible angles and distances..deep in the pockets, so of course you'll have worse accuracy. Corridor work was very rare all game, less common for Port too.

freo got beaten on the night by one of the best sides in the comp even if croad or haselby had played the whole game freo still wouldn't have won it port was much harder and didn't stuff around with the ball as much. and the best part is that it was not a victorian team and i look forward to a non victorian grand final between port and brisbane
