Can’t have threads for the other two and not this one 2 weeks out.

Personally i don't understand the price difference between Harlem and Amelie’s Star given he destroyed her last time and gets a weight swing. For what will go down in history as an average Bart Cummings a massive overreaction IMO. Get on board the Harlem train

Not interested in any of the locals really.

Admire Deus, Johannes Vermeer, Marmelo and Francis of Assissi the short list for me

Ventura Storm and Gailo Chop the "locals" ill probably throw into exotics. Could entertain Single Gaze at the back end of First 4s too

That Bart Cummings form is awful taking a line through the placings. Agree Harlem looks the better value of the 2 but has to be serious question marks on him even at 2400m now imo

3rd up 2500 off big peak ala Almandin, cut the breeze nice little harden him up run. PB's over 2400 in france. Back to caulfield. ++ to come. pretty sure that is peak Amelie Star barring improving over 2 mile which is of course not the CC. would prefer the latter in the MC.

although agree i will be on internationals.

I have a bet on Amelie's Star at long odds but I'm worried she won't get a start or even still Weir will decide to bypass the race.
In his post race interview he made no reference to the Caulfield Cup.
Just tossing up weather it would be worth laying it.

Errr probably because she destroyed him two days ago?

To be fair if you are looking at the Naturalism/Bart Cummings you are looking at the wrong formlines anyway :thumbsu:

Harlem will be too slow to win - might fall into a place if the race falls apart I guess.

Whats JV's actual target?

Heard he is running in the Caulfield Stakes on Saturday which surely wouldn't be the case if he was going Caulfield Cup?

Is he going Cox Plate or Melbourne Cup?

Caulfield Stakes into Caulfield Cup is plan A. Which yeah seems very strange to me too. I can't imagine the Melbourne Cup is really on the radar given he isn't a 2 miler

Caulfield Stakes then one of the CC or CP into the Emirates would be my guess

Yeah I'm with you - shit prep - has looked a very average 2000m horse in Europe. Honestly thought they were bringing it hoping it would improve under an Australian 3200m style race.

One week back up into the Caulfield Cup as a Euro hadly attractive either.

Have we all just given up on Hartnell? It obviously isn't going quite as well as last year and it has all that weight but I'm a little surprised at just how far the odds have blown out. Definitely not my top pick but decent chance I'll have something on it on the day if it's still this low down the market

Will be in multis but doubt I'll be backing with the weight.

Think I’ll be on Francis of Assisi, believe Appleby came out and it’s the main target for him

Marmelo I’m keen on for Melb Cup, got the impression they were going to be 1st up at Flemington?

Pretty sure Marmelo is heading to the Caulfield Cup first. Red Cardinal and Tiberian are going 1st up into Flemington

I prefer him in the MC too but he has good tactical speed and is still decent over 2400-2800 so 40-1 is very tempting

Yep, running in CC. Bowman decides tomorrow if he’s going to ride him. I’m surprised the CC price has held up for so long. It’s been no secret the double was the plan.

TAB are 51/13's FYI.
51 on Bet365 as well.

I've seen a few on this board don't mind Marmelo for the MC. I sent them a request for the CC and MC double, they've given odds of 501. Crownbet have Marmelo at 81 to do the double... Gross, gross unders.

Well Francis of Assisi is out :(

Onto Marmelo for me now

http://www.espn.com.au/horse-racing/story/_/id/21013840/francis-assisi-caulfield-cup

Godolphin's Cups contender Francis Of Assisi will miss the Caulfield Cup because of a hairline fracture of his pelvis.

Francis Of Assisi was found to be lame behind when he cooled down from a routine canter at the Werribee quarantine centre.

"He pulled out short on his left hind after exercising in the morning," trainer Charlie Appleby said from England.

"Our vet had a look at him and the diagnosis revealed he has a small hairline fracture of his pelvis."

"Unfortunately it means he will miss the Caulfield Cup but he will have an MRI in the next few days which will tell us more about the extent of the injury."

Francis Of Assisi won his two Group Three starts in Australia last year, claiming the Bendigo Cup (2400m) and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2600m).
