Oh yeah....while we're talking feral supporters.
My mate, who has a CDFC sticker on the back of his car, had two door panels on his car kicked in. He was parked near the Crows' Shed.
You tell me how that happened.
Centrals aren't the only club with a mortgage on unruly supporters.
People/glasshouses/stones

I had my panels kicked in at the 1992 Grand Final. And this happened while I was still in the car, searching for a park!

It was good to see Les Stevens at the chimney unveiling today have a go at certain elements in the media who perpetuate the myths about Centrals supporters. You should have seen the look on KG's face in the background. There was no doubt that he was referring to KG and Cornes on their disgraceful forum for lies, innuendo and prejudice called 5AA!

I don't think it is a myth. Here is an example.
This moron central supporter was sitting on the fence with legs dangling over during the presentations. A red coat asked him to get over the fence and either sit or stand behind the fence. This moron refused to do it and a security guy came over and then asked him if he was a bit thick. Then this moron was all offended by what the security guy said to him about being thick. Then this moron preceded to carry on and on about being spoken to like that. Isn't it funny how the druggy type people all get offended about being spoken to like that and then they would be the first person to stick their finger up at someone in a car or do road rage or something. Weak.

Is that the best example you can come up with? Now THAT is weak. :p

My point is that anyone from any team can come up with multiple examples. At the Prelim final I personally saw a vicious Eagles supporter beat up and then attempt to kill a Westies supporter before he was arrested and cuffed by Police. The next week at the GF, some relatives of mine saw a Westies supporter beat the absolute **** out of a Centrals supporter, knocking his teeth out, before being arrested by Police. Why isn't the 5AA airwaves on fire at the moment with these factual stories of offenders being arrested by Police?

Australians are famous for their prejudice and hypocrisy. It just feels wierd (as a blonde-haired, blue-eyed Australian) being on the end of that same mentality because I am a Centrals supporter.

I must admit I had a bit of a giggle at Crowaholic's example.

All regular Centrals followers (including the ones I talk to at most Centrals games) know who the troublemakers are, the club does need to get rid of them. Its an element of youngsters who have the "gang" mentality that think they're big men with 50 others to back them up.

Having said that I sat in amongst the Centrals crowd in the 1st quarter last Sunday. One tried to intimidate me by whistling in my ear, which of course did nothing to ruffle my feathers and he gave up. The thing I couldn't work out about these Enimen wannabees was they spent 10 minutes finding a spot to sit/stand, spent 10 minutes watching the Westies cheer squad and totally ignoring the game, and then left 10 minutes before the quarter ended so they could walk down the other end. Bit of a waste of money IMHO.

I think the problem with "gangs" is accentuated with Centrals fans as most other clubs dont attract teenagers to their game (or in the numbers that Centrals do). Most of them seem to have a fairly big chip on their shoulders too, could be something to do with their upbringing, etc.

I've never had any problems with Centrals fans and had a great time having drinks with 4 of their more diehard supporters before the game in Jerome, Dogwatcher, Bulldog Pommy and Raboyle.

Mind you as the Centrals youngsters were leaving 10 minutes before quarter time I did make a comment to Mrs Wedgie which I've been heard to mutter on at least one occasion before: "Geezus, they ARE more feral than Port supporters".
That opinion usually only stays in my mind till I travel out to Alberton for the next game there when I once again remember who the true ferals are :p

Whoops, I forgot to add that Centrals were fantastic, as I said to a few before the game even though I was going to give a clap or two to the underdog Westies I wasn't going to be overly concerned with a Centrals flag as they've been a true powerhouse over the last few years and deserve at least 3 flags to show for it.
They always have been a step above the rest of the SANFL since 1999. Something for the other clubs to aspire to.
Bit of a shame that no other club can step up and offer them a good rivalry like previous years with Norwood/Port, Sturt/Port, North/Port, North/Glenelg, Port/Glenelg, Centrals/Port, etc.
Well done Doggies, a truly classy football club!

OH also, back to the Centrals supporters, I made the comment that I'd never seen so many SANFL guenrseys of the same colours in the same arena ever before, it looked great to see so many decked out when walking around the oval before the game.

The young lads you refer to Wedgie were given a little chat at Elizabeth during the Port game. The ring linger was all tough with his twenty mates, and only the four of us just reminding them they should be very careful who they abuse. The ringleader soon shut up when one of his mates caught up and explained to him that there are some guys at Centrals you don't want to mess with, and he was talking to them at the time.
We know who they are. If only Krazy Kris could drag himself away from the TAB screen long enough to come and have a look.

Keep up the good work BP, Centrals fans give the SANFL a unique feel to it, very hard to conjer up the same sort of atmosphere with other clubs playing.
Its like a Grog Squad X 20!
:)
Having spoken to you before about this issue it is obvious that a majority of Centrals fans want to get rid of these clowns as they give the 99% other fans a bad name.

Also, never seen an incident of violence at North v Centrals games, only North v Port, North v Norwood and North v Eagles (and that was me! lol)

Thank you.

Just on the Centrals/Port rivalry I think that's still alive and well.

Port beat us twice this year (convincingly too) with a great brand of footy - esp the night match at Adelaide Oval.

We owe them a couple next year and if they can rise up the ladder and into the finals, next year could be very interesting.
