I've been a long-term fan and member but only following online for the last few years. Each year Collingwood's site seems to get slower and slower in updating information. Especially on the players listing for ongoing bios (usually 1 or 2 years out of date) or for end of year updating the players page on who's come or gone. Right now we still don't have anything on Chad Morrison there, traded alooongtime ago to us, nix on the rejigged rookie line up, and not sure but maybe even Mark McGough was there, as is Leonard instead of on the rookie page.

Can't be the fob off line "oh it's outsourced to Telstra" as West Coast's site seemed to have Chad off theirs the day after he was traded.

You folk who have been online longer than me, is this normal? How do we fix it?

It's been a problem for a while now, and believe me the club knows.

At the moment TMN is undergoing a bit of a change, and aims to be THE most up-to-date CFC website going around for 2005 and beyond.

The new layout should be up and running within the fortnight, and guess what - it will have an updated player list!!! :p

Infact furthermore, I think the official site still has Benson and Crow on our rookie list - both were delisted a good 6 weeks ago.

The Collingwood website has been s**t since the AFL took over the internet rights. They should do an Essendon and start their own site up so us that don't live in Melbourne can get up to date news.

Please bring back 'From the Outer', it was a great site.

leon,

more power to you. Net = now. Pity CFC seem to think Net = nuisance. They don't have to give away state secrets there, just help everyone feel included with the basic info. Might even entice more to sign up membership if the site looked like it was a value-add rather than a dinosaur. Anyone done a comparison with other club sites? I usually can find there what I can't on CFC, but that's one person anecdotal.

The website was discussed at the AGM. A full timer is to be employed and there is supposed to be a meeting happening with various interested parties to work out what people want form it. There have been plenty of complaints and these have been acknowledged. The impression I got was there were some issues with Telstra which have now been resolved. Hopefully things move quickly from here on and the club can make the most of a website. Apparently it has a very bog hit rate so there is huge potential there.

Isn't the Collingwood website managed by Sportsview, the company co owned by the Collingwood president ? According to www.crickey, it has a 10 year deal yielding 65 % of revenue to Sportsview, negotiated during the presidency of the incumbent.

Ooh and I am the next Prime Minister!

Sure the CFC.Com site isn't the best and FTO was good.... if you have a good snoop around the Nicks webpage site not just the BB you'll find it surpasses what FTO had on offer in terms of Collingwood content.

It will be interesting this meeting Ed told us about, depending on who is there I may not be.

hey guys my website at magpiesfc.com next year will give you all the information you need. Honest match reports as well as stats, the ladder, upcoming opponents etc etc...stay tuned!

You will find that Nick's is already the most up to date magpie site on the net. News is generally updated within a few minutes of it occuring. On top of that, during the offseason there has been training reports, and photos. And during the season there is the live scoreboard and chat....and then there is the BB.

On top of that though, there are some other great unnofficial sites which are great resources.

leon,

look forward to your site and accurate info/player stats etc. I'm a bit disappointed that the official site also isn't a bit more "can do" / "LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN" / it's happy to spruik memberships there but be way months/years out of date on some info and player comments. Dangerous. Hubris. We are the greatest - and we don't have to do anything to prove it.

How long has Eddie been in charge?
