Agree. So many want to say Fly made a big boo-boo by saying we only needed 14 wins to qualify and that was the reason for our drop off.

Well I clearly remember him also saying finals are the start of a new season, we start again...and it's played in Spring, which is different to Winter footy. (Or something along those lines)

I don’t think Fly made a mistake but it looks like we have been playing to protect our position, rather than going all out. Hopefully now we can just let the park break off and go hard.

I don't think it was a mistake either. Just repeating what others have said.

Although we do need to adjust our thinking on how many wins you need..in a season which goes longer you actually do need more than 14 wins to qualify

McStay has been poor. I just don’t think Cox offers more, in fact, I think he offers less. At our best, our game is built on pressure.

Cox doesn’t provide any of that.

Pretty much comes down to this. All this arguing on here is irrelevant until tomorrow’s final. If he’s clunking them and kicks 2+ then it’s a question worth asking but as of now, McStay has contributed more so deserves his spot.

Long has actually been alright the last 2 games.

Anyone who mentions mitchell has clearly not watched the most recent vfl game. He is beyond done, it is horrible.

Long has the higher ceiling, and his bigger body is more useful than mitchell’s butchering.

There was one season where I think Mihoceks average tripled with Cox v without him.

Some can argue he’s useless and teams don’t worry, but no team is going to put a 5 foot midget on him if he goes Forward, he’ll take the biggest or second biggest defender, freeing up someone else to get a lesser opponent.

But he also creates a contest and actually brings it to ground, so if Jamie stops trying to take pack marks, there’s crumb galore for him, Schultz and Beau.

Plus we’d be winning ruck taps for our second ruckman and giving our midfield more chances for longer. McStay is basically conceding the ruck every time. Also means Cameron doesn’t have to be no1 ruckman for as long and can drift forward or back as required.

Last night was the perfect opportunity and both games v Melbourne we’ve been killed by Gawn so it made zero sense to not pick Cox either game.
