I wouldn’t go with Frampton regardless of McKay’s availability, but if they go that way one of Membrey or Cox misses and I just don’t see it being Membrey. In terms of a sub I’m going to have Elliott as a smoky. He’s started the season strongly, but there seems to be a concerted push on load management this year and I like the concept of a senior player starting in the vest.
I can't see it being Elliott coming off a bye.

On form, it should be McCreery, but think we'll be trying to exploit the Blues lack of speed on the outside. No idea, but with looking to exploit the Blue plodders, I wouldn't be surprised if we go in smaller up forward with a kick it to grass plan and it's Membrey as sub.

I had the pleasure of talking with Benny about that goal at Heights Reserve in Mooroolbark. He was warming up with the Doncaster boys and I caught his attention and told him he was one of my favourites at the Collingwood Footy Club. He immediately jogged over to me (I was sitting on a grassy slope in a portable chair) squatted down next to me and we chatted for five minutes about that prelim. He told me he had watched the replay only a week before. When I asked him how it felt to kick that goal and hear that Collingwood army roar, he grinned and said, "Awesome!"

We even argued about which crowd was louder- the 2002 prelim when Pebbles kicked that 80 metre drop punt or Benny's running goal in the 2010 prelim.

Anyway- he was a delight and jogged back to his team with a big smile and a "cheers mate!" It made my day.
he was a very very good footballer Benny ...the rat pack thing and knockabout character aside ..he would be in my all time best Collingwood team ..he was tough and always played well when it really counted

Have you been reading the last few pages at all? In short - TDK does his stoppage damage at ground level, where Cox is very poor.
I think I’ve made my points unrelated to head to head contest of Cox v TDK.
I see DC/Cox >>> than DC/McStay in giving us an edge in the Ruck, in the air and therefore winning the game. Accordingly it seems obvious TDK will be forced to play extra minutes and therefore tire faster if DC//Cox are damaging.

If Cox plays, one of the MMMs doesn’t. This will surely reduce our scoring power and chances of kicking a winning total.

TDK is not an issue. Cameron is more than good eenough. TDK has played against 3 average teams this year and Carlton are still winless. That's a stat you can't measure

In the minority, but Cox > Membrey. Maybe having Membrey makes our forward line slightly more agile.

However, the benefits of playing Cox (imo) significantly outweighs the improvement in our forward line.

The benefits:

- always having a ruck in the contest and never really being dominated.

- Cox & Cameron ability to kick goals.

- Cox’s natural ability to draw multiple defenders.

- Cox taking intercept marks in defence.

Coxs game isn’t perfect, but I think it helps us win.
We also have like 35-6 record or something insane when they both play.

Cox played 16 games last year for a return of 6 goals.
He just doesn’t contribute much to our scoring anymore.

The old black v white training conundrum. Only made more complex by the notion that either Cameron or Cox will invariably be in white so they can ruck against each other?

Cox was predominant in the forward line for the whites with smit doing most of the ruck then they swapped in the last 2 centre bounce

I was. Billy to bully and leave McKay crying against the goal post and then go and belt Curnow and TDK. Seems simple to me.
In simpler times, that was accepted behaviour. There was a certain opposition player in the VAFA who had previously been at an AFL club, was then delisted and had an emotional breakdown.

Everybody on and off the ground called him Ken Bruce.
