Charlie hopefully good to go for Lohmann. McKenna moves back for Starcevich? Levi stays in the 22 and McLachlan as sub?

In: Cameron McLachlan
Out: Lohmann Starcevich

Hopefully Ah Chee is alright. 8 day break hopefully helps as a few players looked very sore at times including Morris and Berry.
I think that's about right depending on whether Sam Day is right to go or not.

That's what I'd have too. Hopefully no suspension for Chief. Quite a few players who could take that sub role depending what we wanted to do

Lohmann out -- Charlie in.
Bailey plays more fwd. Levi Ashcroft can take more of Bailey's mid time.

Starce out -- I'm tempted to bring in Brain and keep Mckenna as sub. Although, it's more than likely Mckenna goes back for Starce. I'd have a halfback as sub because Mckenna or Zorko can swing fwd if needed. Brain or Beeken would be the option. I'd lean towards Brain.

Does Fort hold his spot or does he make way for Day? I'm happy to stick with Fort. He was underdone coming into the Swans game but will be better for the run. Hippy underdone as well. Ruck work and fwd cohesion should improve as their match fitness improves. I'm happy to give the 2 ruck set up a go for a while.

We should be able to shake some cobwebs off v Eagles.

"Deven Robertson lined up on the half-back to start the game and did not look out of place, with his ball-use a highlight as the Lions exited defensive 50." - VFL Match Report

Is there any chance that we will try Dev in the Starc role? He has elite speed and agility (20m dash under 3 seconds I believe) and is a great competitor.

The season is still young, if the coaches think he is up it might be worth a punt. Otherwise, it's Brain straight in.

That’s interesting. Would be the week to try it I suppose

My initial reaction to the Starce situation is to give him till the mid-season break, even the end of the year to rest and consider his future. I'm sure he would keep himself in shape and be ready to go should he feel he can return.

It's tricky though, he might be dead against sitting out and it could become a factor in him leaving? But as a club, Id rather we completely back off and err on the side of caution.

McKenna is not the same player as Starce. Would bring Brain in, or debut Beeken, keep McKenna as the sub as he seems to be able to play on any part of the ground.

If the team had any chance to test out a one ruck setup, this game is the game to do it. If Day is up, he will be played over Fort. Not that Fort did a bad job, we just need a tall who can take a contested mark. Our midfield is good enough with one ruck for the whole game.

For Lohman, hope we see Shagga debut. Not much point in holding onto these mid-season guys if we're not going to play them.

Hopefully we win. Going to the football with my old man. Don't think we can beat Geelong on current form after their demolition of Freo, so would like to start the season 2-1.

Any chance of Marshall coming in for Starcevich? Eventually he will be in the midfield, but getting a run at half back like Sheezel, McKercher, and Daicos did in their early games, could fast track his development.

Do you think our squad is in a position where we should be looking to fast track kids development?

Even Levi can't get into the best 22

Starce' replacement has to be someone who can lock down. Warming to Dev.

Certainly, already got the mature frame and the attitude for it. On the Fort-Day question I think Fort deserves to stay in till Day bangs down that door. Fagan also doesn't usually make unforced changes to winning teams unless it's for a top quality, known quantity player.
