what are a few things youd like to see happen to our great team in 06 ?

heres a few of mine

*goodes back in ruck to help jolly out

*for roos to atleast put kennely on ball to see if hes any good if not put him down back!

*crouch on ball, and not tagging coz thats what hes great at...winning the ball and breaking the game open.

*buchanan on ball more than up forward..his foot skills let him down and his game is better suited to midfield.

*schenider to stay up forward...isnt much of a midfielder and a great crumbing forward

*malceski, moore to get much more game time

*luke ablett to possibly go down back..just for a bit n if hes bad move him back to the middle.

*to kick long to a pack more often, or just kick long in general.

*richards NOT to play up forward put him down back as the 3rd tall. (we have enough forwards as it is.

*if doyle gets injured again and or doesnt produce anything then get rid of him..make or break for him.

*give fosdike more game time... a quality ,classy player who doesnt get enoguh game time!

Pace is probably most important coming out of defence. It would be interesting to see him tried out on-ball but don't underestimate the value that he brings in his current position.

He is also very good as a small defender. If he is not played on the likes of Milne, Farmer, Akermanis et al, who do you suggest takes those players. I think Roos has more options to rotate through the midfield than he has to play on the most dangerous small forwards.

Don't understand the rationale behind this. He would be a medium/small defender, which isn't a role we particularly seem lacking in. When there is medium forward that needs guarding, Mathews usually does a competent job.

As a midfielder, however, he has a largish, strong body that complements the otherwise smallish on-ball brigade. He sometimes sprays his kicks, but on the whole his ability to kick with great penetration off one step and under pressure is a great asset for the midfield as it gets the ball in quickly to where our talented forward line can make things happen. Coming out of defence, precision probably matters more than penetration.

I reckon he has the potential to become more of an offensive midfielder, and probably the most likely of the current bunch to be a goal kicking midfielder, something the team desperately needs to break the dependence on the forward line to kick so much of the score.

He has had some success (and also some struggles) as a tagger but hasn't really shown anything to suggest he is a natural one-on-one defender.

What attributes do you see in him that suggest "defence" rather than "midfield"?

well obviosuly his body size! hes only 184 cm ( i think yet hes 90 kg so i think he'd be good ot play on the medium/small forwards. hes roughly the same size as leo so you never know he might take over his role, although very unlkely.

Totally agree with that, especially if Doyle gets injured. Dont no much about chambers.

Would like them and of course vogels. I like vogels, i think he can be the next barry hall. He has a good body build.

no doubt that this is doyles last chance, i am hoping he will do well but i can just see him getting injured. The big difference between doyle and jolly is that jolly is a good kick on goal, Doyle is shocking as i think we all no. I would like to see doyle around the ground with Jolly up front. But Jolly to work the centre bounces. Could do a little bit to prevent injury.

Totally agree with that. I think he is such a good player who is just not used as much as he can, he has the ability to be great and roos knows that.

You advocate moving Ablett to defense because he's 'only 184 cm', yet you want Crouch to move to midfield at 175cm? Work that out.

Ablett will be a prime mover in the midfield for years to come. Could rest on a half forward flank but primarily onball. No defense for him.

I like Crouch as a midfielder too. Hopefully when he isn't required on Milne, Aker types he can run through the midfield.

I don't want Goodes in the ruck. Doyle is a champ. If he doesn't get injured he will repay the faith.

Craig Bolton and Richards to do a lot of position swapping...Bolton as a forward is something I'd like to see to mix it up.

Willo in the forward pocket.
