My name is Corey Bannister and I’m helping to organise a charity match to help raise funds for my brother Ricky, who became a quadriplegic last year as a result of a horse riding accident. Brendan Fevola (plays for Yarrawonga) and my brother Jordan (former Therry / Carlton player + now AFL umpire) have been the main drivers for the game.
The match will be played between the Therry Penola Allstars vs Yarrawonga Allstars on Sat 8th March (labour day weekend) – both teams will have a mix of X-AFL players including Fevola, Carey, Richard Champion and Paul Williams.
For a bit of background - Ricky played over 200 games for Therry Penola, winning a B&F and a best in finals in only our 2nd premiership in 28 yrs.
