Cheap Laptop for study

How much are you willing to pay? If you're just gonna use it for study & maybe a bit of web surfing you dont need the lastest & greatest bits of hardware. Something cheapish would do the job.

if it is just for study get one of those Acee's. Not sure if that is the exact name but it is around $500.

I would imagine that's why the thread title is:

If you want new you can pick up a bottom end Acer like this one for around $500.

Some of the Toshibas are also around the $500 mark if you can find one with a cash back deal like this one.

To get more bang for your buck though, I'd try one of those shops specialising in ex-lease equipment. This is just an example, I've never dealt with them. There are plenty around and most provide a warranty.

That's about how much I'm wanting to spend, max.
Theres a few acers or HP's around for 470-500 or some are a bit more but you get a cashback so it ends up about the same figure. Or you could go down the netbook path where you have either the MSI wind or the Asus EEEPC's. Keep in mind these have smaller screens though so if you're going to be staring at the screen for a long time, your eyes may begin to strain. The wind has an 8.9" screen while the eeepc's have anywhere between 7" to 10" depending on the model you choose. Im looking to buy an eeepc 1000h at the end of this year, they're great little machines.

That was the name of the one I was thinking of. Not sure how I came up with Acee though?

I have only seen someone using it on the tram once but it looked like it was fairly quick.
