I know I was critical of last years effort, but this years was superb.
They obviously sought the services of a billboard company. Having an actual photograph of the cup instead of the usual sketch or drawing looked so much better, must have cost a bit but it was worth it.

Loved this year's banner too; it was up there with the 2007 lid banner. And you're right - the photo was a great choice and well worth the money it no doubt cost.

As for last year's, to be fair - the Cheer Squad were told to make that banner, they weren't allowed to use the one they'd planned; as a result the 2008 banner was made hurriedly too. Can't remember if it was the AFL or GFC that told them they couldn't use it, but it was apparently going to feature the team in a similar way to Hawthorn's, with all the players featured.
