The Geelong cheer squad has gone way over the top, they are treating us like a bunch of schoolkids and I have had enough.
You've heared of the old "BROWNIE POINTS". Guess what ? Now the Geelong cheer squad have them !!!!!!!!! they call it a "points system".
this is how it works-
When you turn up to a match you get 10 points.
When you wear Geelong colours you get 5 points.
If you help make the banner it's worth 15 points. (too bad if you live in Melbourne.)
If you cheer you can get between 5 to 20 points depending on the strength. (how the hell can they judge each individual person ?)
BUT WAIT. THERES MORE , you can also lose points.
Not cheering lose 5 points , (fair enough)
Wearing opposition colors lose 5 points , (like... derrr we're not that stupid!!)
Bagging own players lose 15 points - (come on , sometimes they deserve it)
Bagging opposition players lose 15 points - (they surely must deserve it)
BAGGING UMPIRES lose 15 points - (come on , you have to be kidding , are we suppose to be a bunch of goodie-goodies or something.)
I AM NOT JOKING, THIS POINT SCORING BUSINESS IS WELL AND TRULY FACT.
And there's heaps more other ways to earn or lose points simply too stupid to mention.
I'm not sure whether you get a "gold star" or a "good work" stamp for getting 100 points.
Come on . All I want to do is have a great day at the footy sitting with fellow very one eyed Geelong supporters who want to scream at the top of their voices.
Me and my freinds have just had enough and now thanks to Cougar , it looks like there is a decent alternative.
They have started a cheer squad at the northern end of the ground where you win a seat in a competition.
So from now on we will be sitting (or if we have to, stand) right behind them and will join in their cheering chants and songs.
We could very easily become our very own force as a "proper" cheer squad.
Firstly we will get as many other annoyed Geelong goodie-goodie squad members as we can (and believe us there are a lot of them). Then we will grab the Cougar catters who loved their day cheering and want to come back for more.
Imagine the voices of 70 Cougar catters and a whole squad of people behind them backing them up , it would make one hell of a noise .
I hope everybody supports this idea, and just leave the other goodie-goodies behind at the Hickey stand end to just sit and earn their Brownie points !!!!!
