All I want are new, non boring CS signs.

I mean it's not really that hard to use the imagination i.e. The Rat, The Glove, Spindleshanks? So much potential!

Why do I expect the signs to be plastered with Mission logos all over them, no matter how witty the main content of the banner is? Hopefully it's just not another advertising space.

Good luck BRG93, take it to the next level. Home made flags and banners with a bit of creative flair would be good. A couple of big ones as well, sans sponsors logos.

I really like your flags and banners at the games on Level 3 SonOfScray. Not enough people do that and its certainly not as common in our game today. Passion certainly is lacking these days from what people say who experienced the footy in the 1980s.

Although I'm not a Cheersquad member and on the Footscray end, I did make a banner last season saying "Everything's Coming Up Dahlhaus". Those who enjoy the Simpsons will get where I'm coming from!
The Cheersquad should also make a banner which says something like - 6 Points to Griffendor, or something like that haha

If they want to make the cheer squad any good, they need to differentiate it from all the other club cheer squads. Why not try getting a bit of singing going rather than the usual crap - "bulldogs, clap clap clap".

I reckon they should offer a 75% rebate on the cheer squad memberships if they can average 90 decibels for the cheer squad noise throughout the game, etc.

The remaining 25% could be rebated if they are funny!

It would definitely create a stronger atmosphere and gelp get us over the line in close home game. I can just picture how much more tolerable 2012 would have been:

What I would like to see on the banners:

Footscray/Western Bulldogs Football club established 1883, Premierships 1889, 1899, 1900, 1908, 1913, 1919, 1920, 1923, 1924, 1924 Premiers of Victoria (defeating VFL Premiers Essendon) 1954 VFL premiers.

Also, I've been thinking about the chants idea. Someone else suggested that it wouldn't work because there are more goals in an AFL game than a Soccer game. But I've sat in both terraces at Melbourne Victory (a friend of mine is a North Terrace member) and I noted that, when the other team scored, they didn't actually stop, they just kept on going with whatever chant they were on. (And I imagine the chants wouldn't stop when a behind was kicked either).

During the 2013 season, each team kicked an average of 13.5 goals per match; that's an average time between goals of 8m52s over a 120 minute game. I don't imagine that would be such an issue, and even if it wasn't done throughout the match it would be something noticed in the football community. I mean, they don't really need to be coordinated like a European Ultras group; the English style (and the MV South End) is that one or two people start a chant, and if the others like it, they join in and it gets louder from there.

Harr bit of black humour by the Hammers - don't think I would go that far ......... but yes, some of the soccer chants are great

Bulldogs President Peter Gordon has announced the Club’s Board of Directors will pay for members to sign up to the Western Bulldogs Cheer Squad for FREE in an effort to make the Dogs’ squad the biggest in the league.

The announcement comes after the Club recorded its highest pre-season Cheer Squad numbers in years – hitting 260 this week, already surpassing the total squad membership in 2013 (250).

The Board of Directors will pay for 500 Cheer Squad Memberships which includes providing a full refund to the 260 Members who have already signed up for the season ahead.

Cheer Squad membership costs range from $75 (adult) to $165 (family).

The Club wants our Cheer Squad to be the difference when it comes to our match days – so if you are thinking about getting on board – this is the time to do it!

The Western Bulldogs Cheer Squad has undertaken some changes for Season 2014 and we know that once you see us in action, you will want to get involved.
Some of our new initiatives include:

- Greater game day activities and fun within the Cheer Squad bay

Good initiative by the club to boost cheer squad numbers that's for sure. Will be interesting to see how many new people jump on board.

I'm not expecting full blown soccer style chants (yet ;)) but please, please come up with something better than bulldogs clap clap clap, even just a couple of different ones would be good. The cheersquad can get them started and you could have a spot on the website to find the words so doggies supporters around the ground could join in if they know one. Would be great, and if it really got going it could be the sort of thing that attracts some new members.@OfficialBulldogs
