do you guys think the touted move of polak from CHB to CHF would be a good idea? granted that polak is a future AA CHF and moving up now will improve his development to no ends, it may leave the backline lacking. on countless occasions polak saved our butts by pulling down a contested mark as teams rained in kicks from the stoppages. if we can't stem the flow, who is going to plug the hole in the dam wall?
whilst mcpharlin is an execptional player, his marking ability is a distant second to polak and he will be under pressure as the only genuine tall in the backline. yes, we could put croad to CHB, but i don't think he has performed as well in that position as polak (plus croad ain't the sharpest tool in the shed!). are we potentially leaving us short in the backline?
also, what about pav at CHF? he's an exceptional mark, kick and good around his feet. i think he'll be a more reliable forward than polak for at least the next season or two. but of course we would then have to cover pav's absence in the midfield...and that ain't easy!
i'll be interested in everyone's thoughts.
