Chick Hearn, The "Voice of the Lakers" passed away on Monday aged 85. I know he isn't a Basketball player, but to all Lakers fans he is everybit a Lakers as Magic, Elgin, Jerry and Kareem.

He is the only Broadcaster the Lakers have had.

Francis "Chick" Hearn broadcast 3362 games for the Lakers between 1965 and 2002, including 3338 consecutively between November 21 1965 and December 16 2001.

During the Hearn era, The Los Angeles Lakers:

Played 3,400 games
Scored 360,000 points
Utilized over 230 players
Registered over 2,100 wins
Won 9 Championships

A true Legend

You knew the game was over if you heard this midway through the last quarter...

''You can put this one in the refrigerator. The door's closed, the light's out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard and the Jell-O is jiggling.''

He was a great man and may he rest in peace.
