Hey all, I thought some of you would be interested in something a bit different, it's a site where you can stake people into tournaments or get staked into tournaments. Some big money has been won on the site it seems, I have only just started on it but there are a few known pros that play on it and you can stake them into tournaments, then if they cash you get a cut. Anyway the site is here http://chipmeup.pokernews.com

In the referral section of the sign up, if you put my Name "TheTrav" you get a bonus $3 credit upon sign up. Who knows we may end up staking each other in here:p could be fun.

I saw TonyG offer up a part of himself over the Aussie Millions. As he would now that Pokernews seems to have taken ownership of the site!.

Put a few stakes up today, nothing for $3 and $1, but the $6 stake is going well in the 70k Guaranteed, coming 25th with 378 left. GET FIRST CMON HAHA

Update, the guy I part staked in is now 10th of 65

Trav, how do you fund the 'Credit a/c' to start buying shares?

Can u fund by transferring Stars or FT money, or do you need to make an initial transfer with a CC or similar?

The FAQ's doesn't seem to cover it.

Signed up but what am i sposed to do with my 3 dollars?

He got 10th, $79 for me from $6, he got sucked out bad as well, I'll explain everything once I have a late dinner and all that, just got back from footy.

Quickly you can fund using your PT or FTP account, go to Pokeratm

Also having the money in the actual account is more for when you sell shares. Buying shares you transfer to the persons Pokerstars/FTP account.

Yep quick as a flash, got the $79 in my account already, which was 10% of what he won. It tells you on the page what the approx max win is per share.

If a few of you want to try it out, I can make either a normal game or find a cheaper custom game and we can try it out, just to get used to it?

I don't go too bad on stars tournies.

The only problem with this site is if I actually won a nice amount I don't know if I would feel rapt in having to pay people out...

I guess it would be beneficial where you wanted to play in tournaments that your bankroll could not sustain. But to get to that point in having people wanting to back you, you are going to have to show some results!.

Yeh but you still get a fairly decent cut, he won $790, and got 40% of that, he only had to pay his way in with $13 of his own money, you can decide how much the stakers pay and receive.

Honestly I'll probably end up using the site more for backing people, just something different, might try and get staked into some games, I'll see.

So Trav, in a nutshell.......

If you want to buy shares in somebody, you just need to transfer the money directly to their a/c (after pressing all the buttons and them accepting etc).

If you want people to buy shares in you (sell shares), you need to transfer money from your Stars/FT a/c into a CMU a/c?

If so, how much do you need to put into the other a/c and why do you need to do it?

When you make a event, CMU takes a fee off you, so that is why you need it in there, the fee is only small. But yeh you pretty much have the gist of it.

I won that $79 from a guy called cBlik11, looks to be solid enough, he has the same event running for tomorrow and one over at FTP.

Yeah OK, I see.

It appears to be a $1 fee for tourneys up to $150 buyin.

Interesting how some guys setup their pricing to sell shares. I guess well known players with good results can afford to sell at a premium, but some of these Nevilles are selling half of themselves at $50 for a $80 buy in tourney .

I'll probably dabble in this, it's like going to the TAB and having a bet, just the race takes a bit longer to run :p

For somebody who thinks they have an edge, I'd be selling myself at very reasonable rates and building a clientelle. If u have a few good results, they'll be falling over themselves to get a piece of your action and you can up the ante and play some big tourneys almost as freerolls. :thumbsu:

That's what my post above is getting at. I'm not sure what you paid for part of his action, but ATM you are happy with his result and will be probably looking to get a part of his action tomorrow night and the night after.

Build that clientelle with reasonable rates and gain a rep. After that it could be a great earner.

I already bought a share in his tourny tomorrow, I paid $6 for $79 return, can't not be happy with that.

Trav, I've joined and used u as a referral.

I've also got a $6 10% piece of your man (Ele11ven) in tomorrow's FT tourny at 21:30 EST.

When I transferred the $6 to his FT a/c, I noticed that the minimum transfer player to player is $5. How do u go about buying shares if they are less, say like $3 ?

Hrmmm, that might be for FT then, PS you can send over $1 and it's all good.

I might get something going in a day or two.
