Choppy paid the price for being so good at being able to put maximum impact into his bumping technique .
I sake a Pt. Lincoln footy identity once if he could tell the future AFL players ( Picket , Burgoynes , Wells , Johncock etc . )

One thing I'd love to see is a highlights reel of his biggest bumps. So frequent and so ferocious, yet largely before the internet and social media error so largely undocumented on youtube. Unfortunate since with the tribunal system as its set up we're near guaranteed never again to see his pure (and fair) brand of brutality.

This reel would include:

-Brendan Krummel
-Brett Kirk
-Rhett Biglands
-Colm Begley

all of which can be found on youtube already, but I'm sure there were dozens more..

Choppy was unfairly maligned for the Biglands bump. Chop was actually running the same direction to the ball whereas Biglands was running the opposite direction making a bee line for Byron. The fact that Byron could take someone of Biglands' size out is remarkable considering Biglands was trying to initiate contact

I've never heard anyone ever say a remotely bad thing about the Biglands hit? Can completely understand why people would be critical of the Begley and Krummel incidents, but the Biglands one was as clean as you get.

Amidst the one hand festival in the aftermath of that game a ridiculous number of otherwise decent fans of the Turner Drive Football Concern condemned him as a 'thug', 'sniper' and everything in between.

I guess that's why they beat us at football nearly half the time.
