Any1 from Old Ivanhoe F.C or around anywhere know when the great Chris Branigan is returning from his ankle injury? I saw a couple of Old Ivanhoe games last year and was real impressed with the talent this bloke possesses and would love to watch him play in A grade and see how he travels.

Rumour has it that Chris was confined to a wheelchair for a period of time, not sure how true this is however. Anyone able to confirm this ?

Was definitely in a wheelchair for three or four weeks and then on crutches for another three or four I think.

Stumbled around filling in space against OH with a few token water bottles in his hand 10 days ago, so that would appear to show that he's at least got some movement back in his ankle/foot.

Last I heard he was looking at a late season return, just in time for finals....

Corked thigh?? Doubt that very much mate, i am pretty sure that he broke his ankle in 2 different places. Old Ivanhoe will be sure to dominate when he is at his best.

I'm pretty sure it was a corked thigh. It had something to do with the blood running down to his ankle and making it a 'kankle'.

nah, it was a corkie.

As DAG said, blood went down to the ankle, where it then calcified.

Dont think we will see Chris without his thigh pads again.

That rumour is true haha, he was in a wheel chair for 3 weeks in fact sorry branners . It was mad fun riding around in it when he was teaching his wonderful subject.

the wheel chair claim was true, but wasnt really needed, it was a $6 a week more to hire so instead of crutches he thought it would be a good sympathy grabber until he was knocked back at the door of Motel!

yeh i personally think this chris branigan bloke is pretty soft..i cant really talk though. But yes he does just have a corked hamstring and he is being a wooss. We would all love to see him back in the game though cos even though he may be soft he still a gun of the game
