Always liked him. Smart, funny, self-deprecating. He stretched out his AFL career - or more accurately his high earning capacity - for longer than many (including me) thought possible. Wish him all the best in his post footy life.

Has the potential to earn more money outside of footy.
Smart man.

Watched GF2 on fox again last week.
Was an important player in that game with his size and contest.
And that goal..........!
Love the big man.
Same the prelim against the Hawks

That's a bold call. I don't think Dawes would even come close to Mayne.
For mine there both players I wouldn't have 22 and I only have put Mayne in because he's going to play every game this year barring injury. Difference is Dawes is an an actual kpp not a pseudo like Mayne and would be allot cheaper and we wouldn't be stuck with him for 4 years.

But to come back to Collingwood on a fraction of his former salary and still only 28 would be humiliating for him. Besides, no one else wanted him which suggests that his AFL career is over. If he had any value as a CHF, someone would have taken him - other than Sorrento.

Not disagreeing with that, although Tarrant did it.

It does suggest that but It's possible 17 clubs got it wrong.

I'm also not advocating getting Dawes btw just said I'd rather him on our list than Mayne. My preferred option would be to get neither and hold Cloke to his contract. Unless the Bulldogs decide to offer us something real for him and even if they do still get neither.

Nobody wanted him to succeed more than me. He climaxed early in his career, in 2010, then inexplicably lost his ability to mark and seemed to lose pace and anticipation at ground level. Tarrant is not a good comparison. He may well have taken a drop in salary, but he was still a good player when we traded him back to the club.

The Tarrant comparison was just on coming back with less salary ability wise yeah Tarrant was much better.
