NBA-calibre player?

Discuss.

Is this the guy from the Sydney Kings??

If so.

NO

His jump shot would get hammered in the NBA. He has a real poor action, and I think thats one of the reasons why he wasnt considered in the NBA. From what ive seen, his game isnt very polished, but he does dominate because hes up against 5 ******s every week.

Whats his D like?

The only one here who could make it I think is propably Willie Farley, but maybe as a 10-12th man. He has the ability to hit that sweet fade away jumper from 15-18 feet, hes also athletic, can run the floor and is a nice defender. Has good handles too!

Farley tried out for the LA Lakers in the NBL off-season (hence why the 36ers went for Charles Thomas, as they weren't sure of his status heading into the season). Unfortunately, one would think if he couldn't land a spot on a crap bench such as that one, he has little chance of playing NBA later on.

Rick Brunson, Doug Overton, Stephen Jackson and Phil Handy had trouble dealing with 1 ****** per week during stints here, but all had spots on NBA rosters going into the season. Go figure.

probably not.

Can't really see what pos he would play. He dominates the 4 here but would get smashed by the bigger NBA types. He doesn't have the speed or the skills to compensate, if he did he could be a swing man type.

His D is generally pretty good by Australian standards, but then he doesn't have to stop the gorillas playing in the NBA, once again his lack of real footspeed would limit him.

As for Farley, he was very unlucky not to get signed. The Lakers only signed 10(?) players due to salary cap restrictions. He was #11. (Well that was the story back here in Adelaide anyway). The biggest fault in his game last year with the 36ers was defending the man cutting the lane. He continually got stopped by the screen in the key, leaving his man free. Having said that, he has all the attributes to be a good NBA player. One on one his D was as good as anybody's.

I don't think Williams would be asked to defend Duncan, Webber or Nowitzki. Most NBA vets have trouble guarding them anyways!Having said that it is no defence for Williams I don't think he is NBA quality merely an athletic power forward in the NBL which is a league which has very few of these types running around.

Hahah....Rick Brunson. Jeez he was funny.

As for Stephen Jackson, we all know he is a star.

Well, Williams is 6'7" and 215, so I doubt he would be playing power forward in the NBA. His jumper isn't good enough for a SF, so I still don't think he would make it.

Wow!

wow indeed !

0-2 from the free throw line as well....
carrying on the jay williams tradition...

Squeak hit the nail on the head. The guy just isn't big enough for the NBA. And his outside shooting isn't reliable enough.

Good player though.

What about Kevin Freeman from Brisbane? I've only seen him once and I'd say he would be in a similar situation as Williams.

Is Freeman as good as Williams?

Chris Williams has got a gig on the SA Spurs ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVUE Summer League Roster.

Who knows, he may be their boom recruit this off-season! :p

who could make it in the NBA?

Bradtke would have if he'd have gone 8 years earlier.
Andersen is probably next in line, but the best chances would be

Dwight?
Nielsen?
Mackinnon?
Saville?

Bradtke would never have made the NBA. Just not talented enough, too small and too slow. He would be a tweener PF and doesnt have the power or game to play PF. At SF he doesnt have the agility, skills or quickness.

Hardly any NBL players would be good enough to play NBA.
