I want one!!!!!!!

What does everyone think about the switch to a completely 'net book'. I mean, these type of laptops have been out for a while. But then again, for someone who just wants a personal laptop that will be used for the net, why wouldnt you go with a tablet?

I'm wondering why google has pursued this so hard though. its been a while in the making but with the launch and success of several android tablets, why launch an OS thats web-based only??

with that said... I want one.

Sucks they're only being made by Samsung and Acer at the moment

I guess not alot of people like using tablets?

This would probably suit the Older market a bit, Eg my Mum doesn't know how to use a computer too well, and struggles to work an iPod Touch but she can get herself around on the Internet.

So having a laptop, but none of the other stuff on it and just a web browser would be ideal.

I dont see it working for the younger people though, as mentioned, why not just get a tablet? or a proper laptop?

for me - the tablet is just not attractive

but im wondering if i can do the switch to a cloud based pc, with nothing stored on the laptop itself. other than my music collection and some applications that i need for work (but then i just use my work pc), everything else i do is on the net. however a tablet is still too simplistic for me i cant imagine it replacing a personal laptop. having an oversized phone just doesnt appeal to me. maybe its a psychological thing

my mum and several of my friends mums have gotten the ipads for themselves and love it, because it is simple and all they do on it is check emails, facebook, watch youtube, read news etc

Totally agree..I still can't see the Tabs (ipad included) will replace a full o.s.

Until a tab comes out ( I heard the Transformer will offer this) with W7 or even better....8 then I can't consider them..

My netbook is more than enought for now...
