Chuckers

I accept that the really fast bowlers arms have some 'flexion' in the action - the difference is that it is involuntary and they are not gaining any advantage out of it. With the spinners, it is different - even if not deliberate, they are gaining an advantage.

see thats the thing, that arm in a cast test proved that his bowling ability was not because of him 'chucking', unless he can somehow chuck without bending his arm. heavily restricted in movement he was still able to generate the same turn which shows that his ability, like warne, is simply because he has an amazing finger/wrist technique.

I've read this about 10 times now - can someone please point out where I can see the videos that prove 99% of all bowlers chuck? Look, I know there were some interesting actions from the past - whatever you do don't watch Ray Lindwall in super slo-mo - it looks terrible. And there was never the slightest suggestion about his action.

Where are these films?

Well to me its pretty simple, that "investigation" was done with the outcome in mind already.

On one hand, we are told even though it looked like Murali chucks this was an optical illusion that was disproved by science when he was tested in the lab.

But when they looked at past players did they test them with the science? No they did it by looking at footage.
