well allthough chhris judd was fantastic i am not focusing on the man/god as he doesnt need a thread to know how good he is
but Chris Johnson after the bulldogs game had everything riding against him, carlton supporters jeering him in that game and he injured himself as well. After fighting back from the injury and getting back into ratt's favor, credit is were credit's due
wasn't amazing but was pretty solid and disposal when not under pressure is sublime. Has alot of problems that need working on in his game, and we probably cant have him and nicky stevens in the same team, but he could become instrumental and today (well yesterday) was a good start to a hopefully long career in the navy blue and white (and occaisionly yellow:p)

I'm not a fan of Chris but he still rather young to make it and take the spot of Nick Stevens down back.I personally think Stevens is finished as a AFL player, reminds me of Whitnall last days.

His finished as a midfielder, maybe play him of the bench and play on a forward pocket when the game tempo has dropped after half time and put Betts in the middle.

I noticed those couple of games at the start of the season we were flying without him

Stevens is misplaced down back.
Should be used forward to use his accurate kicking to improve our goal-kicking.
He could certainly take Fisher's spot.

Didn't look out of place and that's exactly what we need.

His skills cannot be questioned, they are exceptional and when on song they can be used as a real offensive weapon for us.

Credit to him for coming back into the senior team and backing himself in to show that the poor gamen he had against the Bulldogs was the exception rather than the rule.

He'll be given every opportunity in the seniors as the coaches are clearly a fan of his disposal and it's fairly easy to see why. He's a great user of the football and that's invaluable in this day and age.

I'd like him to work a bit on his aggression towards the ball and the man but he's a handy player for us moving forward.

CJ's disposal drops dramatically under pressure. His defensive efforts are decent, he just seems to become really nervous when being chased.

Good call. For someone with just about the best boot in the team that Doggie game was... well, a dogshit game.

Still not a fan of Johnson, liked his goal at the end though.

not saying i'm a fan, the jury is still definently out, he shits it under pressure, but just reckon credit is due, fought back into the side, and hopefully can sustain his spot. Hopefully the simpsons and sentantas of the club can teach him to bleed carlton!

The doggies game is where CJ did his thigh injury, so I'd suggest that those 4 kicks that went straight to the opposition may have been when he was already feeling a bit of tightness in his thigh....although I do agree that his skills do deteriorate slightly when under pressure, but then again this is common with many AFL players

You should have seen him run away from the kid's at the Carlton Football Clinic...I've never seen a man run that fast. :o

Hope he creates opportunities for himself to develop further as I really like his delivery by foot and we absolutely need good delivery by foot. If he's taken Nick Stevens spot as HB sweeper then thank god as Stevens should never ever been seen backward of the wing again. Think he can still offer us something but would like to see him maybe off the bench as a burst player off half forward. has good foot skills and is every bit as silky as Houla when delivering into the forward 50. Has in the past pushed forward and kicked many goals on the run from 50 or closer.

He sort of comes across as a player that will thrive with confidence and self belief and untill this happens i dont think the best of him will be on show. He has talent and a deadly left foot and deserves patience from us fans as i think he will turn into a very good player for us once the above mentioned happens. :thumbsu:

Was an excellent goal against WC and that was a just a glimpse of his talent available. I work with a few Melbourne fans and they were not happy Cj left them and say he has an excellent upside and still very young.

If you want to focus on the negatives sides of Cj you can say he lacks in his defensive side of his game and accountability but really if we need Cj to shut down a star from the Opposition then questions need to be asked of our MC not Cj himself as he isnt that sort of player and he has more of an attacking side to his game and he is not suited to negating roles get him in the open running off his opponent delivering the ball into the forward 50m.

Patience is needed and with the amount of other hacks we have shown patience with lately Cj is the last one that deserves criticism at this stage of his career with us. :)
