Its already been going but its gone up a gear today.

First it was the centrelink issue with debt collection, cuts for 'middle income' earners and now the abolishment of penalty rates.

These along with the costs of living have the potential to create poverty unseen in Australia before and create an upper class, middle class, lower class and then a poverty class. One of the great things of Australia was the ability to climb out of the lower classes relatively easy with the opportunities you are given i.e education but even this is being scaled back now.

Turnball and co are playing with fire here and unless Labor and co grow a spine Australia is heading down a very dirty path.

It's only 'class warfare' when the ALP or the Greens advocate policy aimed at advancing the interests of the working class and/or lower classes. When the Liberal Party attempt to advance the interests of the capitalist class, it's just a neutral act and sound economic management.

Scaling back Sunday rates to Saturday makes sense (although some of the arguments I have read on here are stupid as always).

Deeply concerned about the governments approach on welfare. Just elitist right winged nonsense from politicians who have no idea abour the factors affecting employment and unemployment.

So far under this government its
Tax Cuts for the Rich
Debt Collectors for the Poor
and
Wage Cuts for the working poor

They are still trying for tax cuts for corporations
Decreasing the Dole for the young
and increase the costs of going to the Doctor

Failed at their signature policy of
Giving more money to pregnant rich women than poor women

The real class warfare is handing over $60-70k PAYE tax every year
Wow you must be making a fair bit and still have lots of time to post on BF. Great job you have.

Broaden the tax base to wealth rather than just wealth creation and suddenly the class warfare disappears

The failed nanny scheme is slap bang in the 'stop the waste' basket

As is sending troops to Iraq with no stated strategy apart from making Howard look statesmanlike

Broaden the tax base to include so called "religious organisations" and we will have the $ to fix the budget black holes.

It's interesting to note the commonwealth can't make laws about religion but it has done by giving them tax free status.

And yes, they should be taxed

The tradition of hanging Jamon from the ceiling of your shop was to prove you weren't a Jew during the inquisition
