This whole thread is a trip down memory lane. It does show the crap nature of pop/rock in the last 15-20 years.

Have to be careful not to drift away too far from rock into new wave and pop in threads like these I reckon. I almost posted a Eurogliders clip and thought better of it.

It's always a fine line between pop and rock. Bands like the Models are probably borderline between pop and rock. Back in the 80s they might have been viewed more as pop but they would probably be viewed as more rock now, mainly by virtue of being able to write and play their own music.

Pop today is manufactured artists using autotune and backing tapes to record music written for them by someone else, ie. Katy Perry, Keisha, anyone from the Idol/X factor shows etc.
