Can someone with a better footy brain than I tell me how we win a hell of a lot of ball from bounces in our defensive fifty but can't seem to replicate it anywhere else on the ground.

Necessity being the mother of intention.Kapow!!! said:The same reason in Derby XXIII we won more clearances after Sandi, our only ruck went off: Neccessity.

On that point Kapow, the intensity should be there at every stoppage. I can't believe they're not as desperate at the centre clearances. It has to be some kind of difference in setup!Kapow!!! said:Closer to goal it becomes desperate to save the goal and not conceed. When Sandi went off against and Eagles dominant midfield it's vital to be at the very best not to get smashed. You wanna try and explain it any better? Or have I once again misread the intention of that rolleyes smilie.

Kapow!!! said:It could also have to do with the difference of players around the ball.
Kenny_01 said:The problem with our midfielders in the clearances is they are reactive rather than proactive. It's as if they know they might well lose the clearance so they have a negative mindset at the stoppage and try to contain as much as they do try win the ball. Football is played in the mind.
We also don't have any midfielders that are evasive and have quick lateral movement. Mundy, Schammer and Hayden do but they are in the backline.
